Beautiful property. Very clean rooms and very quiet. Less than a minute walk to the beach for a Beautiful sunset with the san francisco skyline. There is a lot of options nearby for bars and restaurants, also a bowling alley with arcade right next door. I would stay here again and again.

The Inn needs to be renovated. The carpet is beyond cleaning with a vacuum, curtain was torn, mattress was lumpy, bed skirtting was torn, only cold water in shower, free breakfast was limited to 2 dry cereals and milk, yogurt, apple, bread for toast with butter and jelly, orange juice and coffee each day. The TV guide didn't show the correct time of day so it was difficult to find programs and when they would be airing. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service.

Pros: Nice staff, lovely location, decent pool and beach, good distance to get into SF proper, perfect spot for shopping and relaxing. Cons: Bad internet, broken appliances, issues with wasps, very VERY dirty carpets (wear sandals around and not just socks), lack of decent plug outlets that work. Location needs some work when it comes to appearances.

If it wasn't for the location I'd have given it a poor rating, our room key never worked from the first time we tried it, we had to get a staff person to open door for us everytime we came back from our outings, we were told someone would look at it but no one ever did, and the AC unit did not work, no cold air but like I said location was good

I have been staying at Coral Reef for years! This trip was no different in meeting my expectations (clean rooms, available items in the restrooms, decent options for breakfast--but the inn is walking distance from a plaza with much to offer, so this has never been an issue for us). The only exception which had taken us aback this visit was not being given a parking pass for the lot (which was a first for us) it was kinda shrugged off when we inquired about it. Also, not offering or pre-providing one of the "Do Not Disturb" door dangers--which was oddly a first as well. When we asked for one, they just pulled out a blank door hanger and hand-wrote it in. (Something anyone could have done. So again, odd; and slightly unprofessional in our opinion) These two points docked a star for us in rating this trip simply because we've never experienced that in our past visits; and for safety purposes (being undisturbed throughout the trip) and for peace of mind (knowing we would not get towed parking in the inn's parking lot), I think they're important enough.

This hotel is a little dated but it is in an excellent location - only one block to the Alameda beach and shoreline. Plenty of dining options within walking distance. Located in a safe quiet area with awesome views of SF just steps away! Great value for the money.
