"Pacific View Inn was a very clean hotel in a great location! Staff was friendly and there were beach towels and beach chairs to use which was very nice. Our room (104) was maybe the worst room on the property because our door was at the base of the entrance to the upstairs of the hotel, so it was very noisy and lacked privacy due to its location next to the outside sidewalk. Also, the room above us had creaking floors which was another reason our room was noisy. Upon check-in, I mentioned to the staff that I wanted to switch rooms if possible and they said we could see if anyone checked out the next morning, but we chose not to since we were all settled in. Moving wasn’t worth the hassle at the time, but in retrospect, I would’ve definitely changed rooms if I had it to do over again. I’m not a complainer:) In general, it’s worth mentioning that our room could have been more quiet if other guests were more courteous and conscientious in the surroundings both when entering the upstairs as well as being more quiet above us, but people just don’t seem to think that way these days- I’m not old. Parking was a challenge, but we opted to pay for one of 4 dedicated reserve hotel parking spots, otherwise it would have been stressful. I would definitely stay at Pacific View Inn again, but only in a room upstairs that has an ocean view. I loved the central location and being able to walk to many restaurants and shops! It was a nice, affordable and clean air conditioned hotel."
Beach Haven - Near Pacific Beach Park

"The location is perfect - the rooms need some TLC - the walls need some cleaning up and the blinds need a good clean. The carpet is also a bit off-putting since it is much easier to keep vinyl (or other) flooring clean.The noise level also through the ceiling and walls could be an issue if you have loud neighbours above or below - very noticeable. They are were very lovely to help answer questions and they do provide beach towels and chairs which comes in very handy."

"We had a great stay at the Surfer Beach Hotel. This is a fabulous location that is truly steps from the beach. We enjoyed the great views you have from the 3rd or 4th floor. We had a balcony that we could enjoy. And the beds are very comfy. Love that there is a deep tub in the bathroom. What a great treat these days. A few things that you should know before you go. Please do not read these as criticisms, they are not. But they are things I would want to know before going. First, there are no indoor gathering spaces. We are a family that likes to play games and cards, etc. I didn't check ahead of time, so that's on me. There are places to sit outside by the pool. There is also not a full compliment of cable channels on the TV. Most did not work for us. And there is no way to connect a device to the TV to stream. Again, not a criticism, it is not something that I checked for or was promised. Just something I wish I had, as we like to watch movies at night. There are several great places to get food. One is the World Famous restaurant. This is a standard sit down restaurant. Good prices. They have a great bar menu and small plates, so there is something for every budget. There is also Woody's, which has burgers, fries and a great fish & chips. They also have coffee drinks and breakfast. There is a small mexican place across the parking lot that has great food at affordable prices. And a small liquor store with a variety of drinks and snacks. All told we had a great time!"

"Absolute perfect view of the ocean from the patio, pretty modern upgrades. The check in process was very detailed and easy, just wish it had Air conditioning. We would stay again though in the future and would highly recommend if your visiting San Diego"

"The condo is conveniently located near the beach, shops and restaurants. The view of the beach is good. The condo was newly redecorated including kitchen and bathrooms. The beds were really comfortable, which is key for us. It was nice having secure parking. I gave 4 stars because the fans were loud, dirty and not very effective. The weather was not too hot but it was warm sleeping at night. The area is loud so it is difficult sleeping with the windows open. There are some homeless around."
