It’s a great location and beautiful scenery. The kids loved that the deers were right in the parking lot and you could hear frogs at night. The hotel itself shows its age and the first night and first morning we had no hot water and the staff was slow to address it. Once we had this issue fixed the stay was good.

Other reviews are pretty negative, but I found my room, #101, to be very clean, comfortable and quiet. I enjoyed the gas fireplace and the deep tub. Wifi was good. I used the little coffee maker and the set of plates, cups and utensils for snacks. Was the wall paper perfect? No, it was loose in some spots. I was attending Empty Spools at Asilomar and my room couldn't have been closer. I thought the motel was a good value for the money spent.

I would rate this a value place to stay. I felt the price was reasonable for the location. In fact, I loved the area. The grounds were a little un-kept, and the room was acceptably clean. There were several small problems with the wallpaper, calking in the bathroom, old carpet, old stains on the cloth covered chairs, etc. But, again for the price and location I felt this place was acceptable for my purpose. In spite of the little imperfections, I didn't feel any "yuck" factor. Again, acceptably clean. I would very much recommend this place. Walking distance to the beach, and the downtown eateries and taverns was very enjoyable for me. I would go back.......
