Paid and booked a reservation through Expedia for this room due to evacuating a state of emergency from natural disaster. I arrived at room late for check in due to unforeseen circumstances from the hurricane ( trapped from leaving due to bridge closure and no cell service) , this hotel would NOT honor last day reservation nor would refund $260 said Expedia was responsible .. Expedia sent this location a refund waiver and they denied it. The fact you don’t carry ANY compassion for families in distress due to a natural disaster and put your customers safety first during that time is DISGUSTING !! I HAVE contacted the Better Business Bureau and corporate. DO BETTER !!

The property had no security. There were many people that did not have rooms at the hotel that camped out in the parking lot, used the dock and other amenities. As a single female that travels alone I never felt safe and when I voiced my concerns the staff was concerned that they not offend anyone. They didn’t care about the paying customer

The room was clean and the bed was comfy. No issues there really. BUT, the outside was terrible! I was so disappointed in the amount of people on the lawn between the hotel and the riverbank. They were drinking, listening to loud music all night, shrimping off the dock (not a problem until you tried to walk down the dock in the morning and it was full of trash! from the night before). There was a terrible dead shrmimp smell in the little walkway between my room (a corner room) and the front where the parking lot was. Lots of people with all their belongings just hanging out grilling and partying on the lawn right in front or our rooms. It was really disappointing.

I like that it is pet-friendly, and the breakfast was okay. The room was the worst part—it was dirty, and there were A LOT of cockroaches. The water from the sprinklers also smelled bad.

I dint like the fact that sitting by the pool at noon. With my daughter. Wanted to charge me for her using the pool. But the day before 4 familes took over the pool with their 14 kids. No one said crap to them. 2 of the families wasn't even staying their.

I really appreciated the screening on the outdoor walkways to keep the flying bugs and mosquitos the size of birds at bay. The breakfast was decent. I appreciated the separate eggs and sausage (instead of pre-assembled biscuit sandwiches), as I am gluten-free, so this gave me better breakfast options. The room was clean and comfortable, with good AC (important in August). The pool looked inviting, but we didn't get a chance to use it. I saw other guests using the docks at night to crab and fish, too. Definitely would stay here again.
