A hidden gem! A few minutes walk to Ullswater Lake and plenty to explore straight from the cottage door. The views from all rooms are stunning and we loved seeing all the wildlife that frequented in the fields nearby or just outside by the front door! The cottage itself was so cosy and quaint, had everything we needed and plenty of space for a family of 5. Particularly loved the gorgeous roll top bath and beds were very comfy. The woodburner was great on a rainy evening. We loved the selection of games and DVD’s available too. Utility space off from the kitchen was so useful for coats, boots, fishing gear and bags. We spent time in nearby Pooley Bridge, took a steamer cruise from here along the lake, well worth a trip on this. Lots of nice shops and places to eat. Penrith wasn’t far in the car for a wide choice of supermarkets. On a rainy day we visited the Lakes Aquarium (an hour away) but worth the trip for children and teens alike. Also thank you to our host Louise for the helpful information prior to arrival and for telling us about the “secret beach” a short walk away! I could go on and on about how much we loved our stay here, didn’t want to leave and we’d definitely visit again!
