Not as presented in photos and text. House was full of someone's belongings, clothes, food and toys. Many health and safety issues eg half eaten food and opened bottles and jars in fridge, open box of prescription medicines in cupboard, no handrail on staircase, no lock on downstairs window, bathroom basins had hair and soap scum, kitchen worktop and fridge needed cleaning and clearing, also upholstery needs a good clean, patio vertical blind needs fixing, wobbly wooden furniture. Neither house nor yard were welcoming, we had to clean and clear some space for our use. A good 20 minute walk to beach. Check-in instructions were not 3 days prior but minutes before arrival. Misrepresented and not worth money.

Didn't want to leave... literally!

My family have always stayed in hotels or similar, where we have been helped or assisted at the moments notice or at a call. This time we decided to rent a room, as we were going to stay a whole 14 days! Selecting an apartment, to me, was crucial, as I am extremely picky, and connecting & contacting with my host is important. Surely enough, she was extremely responsive. Uncertain of what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised by the entire home and its welcoming atmosphere (not to mention, the huge bouquet of flowers!) Comfy beds, kitchen, dining area, Washing machine, and TV area with a TV that offers cable TV from major networks. It's truly a great home away from home... which also means we do need to take out the trash like any good Australian in that area. My family really felt appreciated as our host would respond whenever we had a need. She certainly went out of her. Kudos and much thanks. BTW, she went the extra mile many times to assist.

Incredibly bad experience

Will contact Stayz separately due to our distress from this stay. 2 couples, 1 wardrobe and a couple of drawers. Other wardrobes secured with cable ties. En-suite bath rm had personal items in cabinet as did downstairs bathrm. No room to put our toiletries etc. 1 set towels per couple for 7 nights, fee for extra towels. No real loungers, just small entry room. Kitchen/dining rm size ok. Kitchen huge problem. Frypans unusable due to baked on food, sandwich press fit for garbage. Fridge had lots of partially used food and medicines. BBQ disgusting, unusable. Back sliding door couldn’t be locked, so unsafe. We arrived 20 mins early and offered to come back. Owner said it was ok. We(the 2 couples) have stayed in many,many homes before and never seen anything so disgusting. It ruined our stay. Where did the wonderful reviews come from, family?? Does Stayz check houses before they put them up for rental?? We feel we should be given a partial refund at the least. I will make a formal complaint to Stayz in due time

Dissapointed

Photographs and description were certainly not reflective of the actual accommodation. It was small and below average, definitely not suitable for a family with small children/infants. 1. Living room was very tight with only a three-seater couch and a hard two-seat wooden bench seat. 2. Seats in dining room also needed cushions - they were hard to sit on for extended family time sessions. 3. Venetian blinds in dining/family room were filthy and the blinds to the ranch slider had missing and broken blades - also not clean. 4. Kitchen was substandard - overall cleanliness poor and no micro-wave. Some of the bench areas hadn't been cleaned or at least wiped down for some time. Oven and trays had not been cleaned. The fridge also needed cleaning and some of the contents disposed of. 5. Only one dish drying towel - the others we found were stained rags and looked like old cleaning clothes. 6 Upstairs area and bedroom were substandard including the only bedroom blind that didn't work properly and was also dirty. Two hard pillows for the king size bed - hopeless. 6. Outside entertaining area whilst a nice setting was pretty untidy and tired including the BBQ area. 7. There were a few light bulbs missing from lamps. Overall - the location was perfect. The accommodation however was hugely disappointing, so much so we came pretty close to looking for alternate accommodation.

Very beautiful house

Lidia was very helpful and tries to accommodate to my needs. The beds were very nicely done. There was also a lot of good stuff that I did not expect such as the Ice cream machine, air humidifier, small basket of toiletries etc. The house just had a very good vibe in general. Me and my friends were very satisfied with the stay!! Thanks again Lidia!!

Great location. Comfortable home

Comfortable tidy home only 2km from Scarborough beach. It was the perfect location for my guests and I and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. Would recommend. The host was extremely accommodating and responsive.
