When booking the hotel, i made contact with the property to ensure i had booked an accessible room, which was confirmed that i did.
I received several emails prior to arrival "offering room upgrade" for further payment. However, upon check in i was not allocated an accessible room, reception staff were too busy trying to recruit me to their rewards program, and collect parking charge of £15.00 per night, which was not mentioned when i booked, or in the many emails to upgrade my room i received.
Thankfully my arthritis was not too bad, so climbing into the bath for daily showers was not an issue on this occasion, and because this trip was to undertake family get togethers across the weekend, i did not cause a fuss.
There was major roadworks on going outside of the hotel, which restricted access and egress routes to the property. None of this was communicated either. Thankfully family alerted me to this issue, and because i visit the area frequently, i knew the diversion i needed to make. This was not mentioned by the property ahead of my arrival.
Upon checking out, the reception staff did not even engage in a conversation to ask how my stay was.
I have previously stayed at this property some time ago, (prior to parking charges being in place), but this recent experience will not encourage me to rush back.
