10/10 Excellent

"The desk clerk was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and ready upon arrival. The location of this motel is almost perfect. Within walking distance 5 minutes or less to the main shops and restaurants in town. The only negative thing about it was being charged $5 a night for parking. But I think that is coming down from the town of Helen itself. Overall very enjoyable experience."

"I didn’t have hot water when I woke up Sunday morning, I went immediately downstairs to the front desk, and I was told that the whole building was without hot water, I told them that that was the only reason why I stayed there, that I could have slept in my camper and I wanted my money back, I was told that they did not give refunds, I asked to talk to the general manager, but he never gave me a call back, I don’t know if they just shut the hot water off to save themselves money now that the gas is so expensive or if they have some issues with the boiler, but anyway, I pay for some services that I did not get and I’m pissed"

"An honest review: The lady who checked us in was polite, almost gushingly so, but I will take that over rude, impersonal staff any day. I booked an accessible room and advised I had a dog. Upon arrival, I was told there were no handicap pet rooms, but she made an exception for which I was grateful, but... disabled people have pets, too. I had a couple other brief encounters. They were all friendly as well. The room was reasonably comfortable overall, and TV channel choices were plentiful, though there is no "sleep mode". Then there's everything else. -Mold in the walk-in shower -a handicapped seat in the shower, but no handheld shower - no way to even get wet -Bed linens were "short sheeted" - they were put on sideways and upon climbing in bed after a long day, I had to fight to pull the sheets up. Realized the problem the next morning and just dealt with it. -The ice machine seemed broken. One lady helped by dumping a glass full of ice in the machine. (I guess it's the thought that counts), but we eventually got ice. -ALL chairs in the breakfast area are nothing short of disgusting. -the bedside light did a disco dance everytime, until it became a solid glow -the back hall door didnt close securely, making security uncertain We booked this room for being less expensive than two similar hotels next door. But less expensive should not include mold in the bathroom or filthy chairs where one eats."
