LogCabin Sleeps 10 with Dock on Flathead Lake

This charming log cabin on Flathead Lake is located on the east lakeshore of Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana. The views from the dock are spectacular of both the lake and the surrounding mountains. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It covers over 191 square miles with depths over 380 ft. and is one of the cleanest lakes in the world. The cabin sleep 10 people. Swimming, fishing and boating available off of the dock.

The town of Bigfork is a picturesque and charming place. World class art galleries, fine restaurants, a 27-hole golf course, live theatre and unique shops can all be found within a quaint Western setting. Located near by, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and the Swan Wilderness areas are full of wildlife and offer endless recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Bigfork offers you and your family a part of the West that you will never forget. Many hiking trails are close by the property. The property is split by the highway.

Winter opens up a whole new world of outdoor adventure across Montana’s diverse landscape. Flathead Valley's 2 ski resorts mean fewer people, shorter lift lines and a lot more untracked snow.

Winter time fun includes 2 ski resorts. Cross country skiing available right out the door. Whitefish Mountain Resort has been one of America's favorite destinations for good times, good people and good snow since 1947. Rising above the historic railroad town of Whitefish, the resort has gained notoriety for its laid-back vibe, world-class skiing and spectacular summer recreation. Consistently ranked highly in SKI magazine's annual reader survey, it is just as well known for a pleasant lack of lift lines as it is for friendly. Blacktail Mountain is a friendly mountain perched above Flathead lake. Amazing views of Flathead Lake, light dry snow on north-facing slopes, great rates and excellent service will have you hooked!

If you bring a boat or plan to rent a boat, you must buy the $99 insurance policy and provide your copy of your insurance.

It was our first time to Flathead lake. We loved the location of the cabin. It does get very warm with only a very small window AC to cool the entire cabin. Nights cool off well and there are fans in all the bedrooms. The cabin is a bit difficult to find. We’re not sure why they don’t drop a pin or at least light the whispering pines sign. The cabin is for sale and does need some TLC but we found it to be a good value compared to other rentals in the area.

Great cabin with a forested yard. Couldnt swe neighbors which gave it a great mountain hide-a-way feel. Fabulous deck with views of the lake. It came stocked with everything we needed for our group of 8. Would have loved another few comfy seats in the upper living room area. Would go again for sure!

This cabin is rustic and wonderful. Every single night we walked across the street to the dock to watch amazing sunsets over the lake. It's centrally located for short drives to great experiences and enjoying Big Sky country to its fullest!

Great property for a group near the lake. Stairs can be a lot when bring up luggage, but it is a comfortable home. Access to lake is steep so be prepared for a hike. A/C is in one window so you must use fans if summer. A window fan upstairs in the summer wiould be helpful to those staying there. King bed on second level is really soft. Could be firmer.

Beautiful home

We really enjoyed staying in this spacious cabin and the beautiful views from the short walk to the deck. It's a lovely home with lots of room for our whole family. Highly recommend!! The open deck on top was amazing for star gazing too! (Water deck photo included)

Awesome cabin with a great location!

We came to Montana to attend a wedding in Polson, but wanted to venture to Bigfork and Kalispell. Cabin is conveniently located between the locations. Lots of wildlife! We saw a bear in the yard as we pulled up. Deer and rabbits were also seen. The view from the deck was amazing in the evening. The only feedback I have is the ability to see the property sign and entrance at night. My mother in law had trouble finding it. A few bike reflectors screwed to the sign may help. The entire family enjoyed our stay.

The property was clean and nice. Our BIG complaint is that a single window air conditioner in the stairway on a 3 story home is not air conditioning

Great time!

No issues with the cabin, everything seemed clean. Little hummingbirds flying around, peter cottontails eating grass, no bear sightings, beautiful clear lake. Love the smell of the cherry trees out front.

Relaxing family trip for 8

Our family of 8 loved our relaxing time at this home. The loft was a highlight space for 3 of our teen children and there was plenty of room for everyone.

Perfect and comfortable Montana Cabin

Perfect, cozy, comfortable Montana cabin. Starting a real fire in a fireplace seems to be an anomaly today. Our family of 10 enjoyed our time together around a cozy fire every evening. I would definitely reserve this cabin again!

Cozy house, nice kitchen, comfortable stay

We had a great weekend with our friends. The walk down to the lake and across the highway was a little unexpected. One of our members has some mobility constraints, and the walk down was too steep for him to get to the dock.

Fantastic location, mind the heat

Great location, beautiful home, excellent price. Just don't plan on being inside the house between noon and dusk. The house faces west with it's beautiful A frame windows which is probably not an issue most of the year but in the summer this means lots of heat. The entire house has a single window unit next to the stairs which is wholly inadequate to keep the place cool. It routinely was in the high 80s mid afternoon through dusk which only got worse if we needed to cook. We opened every window in the house as soon as the sun set and cranked all the fans to 11 but most nights we fell asleep in 80 degree heat. If they add more window units (especially upstairs in the loft) this place would be an easy 10/10. Until then it's a 7.

Comfortable stay

We are really glad we stayed here! Host Leesa was kind, responsive and professional. The house had an adequate supply of bath & beach towels, and kitchen had plenty of spices, oil & cooking utensils. Everything was fresh and clean upon arrival. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The sitting areas are cozy and comfortable. The deck facing the lake was nice to watch the sunset. The house has only one a/c unit but they provided plenty of floor fans to keep the air circulating. The dock and access to the water was a short walk across the highway and down a small hill - this was manageable for us with older kids but I can see how it might be challenging for those w smaller kids or elderly. Very nice property - would stay here again.

Lovely getaway!

Loved this cabin! Large enough to fit our annual girls trip to Flathead Lake and had everything we needed! One thing to be aware of: the A/C is a window unit, but the weather cools off at night and there's plenty of fans to keep the house cool! Loved having water access- just a short walk down to the dock. We'll be back next year!

Family Time

Whispering Pines was a perfect setting for our family vacation. We were happy to see all of the necessities since the majority of us flew to Missoula so we did not have to do much shopping once we arrived. Convenient locations between Polson and Big Fork and easy commute to Glacier National Park.
