Westcroft Guesthouse

"I can't review for Westcroft as although I booked this property this isn't where we stayed. I booked the Superior Double Four-Poster Ensuite Room at Westcroft Guesthouse for a partner's milestone birthday. Upon arrival, we found a note on the front door stating Westcroft had "relocated." We were moved to an alternate building further up the street called Sea Sound with no prior notice. While the host was pleasant and the beach view was beautiful - indeed both Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful - the accommodation was a severe downgrade in privacy, layout, and amenities. We lost the private ensuite bathroom we paid for and had to use a ground-floor bathroom located two flights of stairs down. This bathroom window overlooked the garden and had no blinds. The bedroom itself had tools left on the floor and lacked the basic amenities listed: no hairdryer, no Wi-Fi, and no tea-making facilities. Only one robe was provided initially, which was tiny with a threadbare hole in the front (though the host did provide a second one when asked). The actual layout is fundamentally misrepresented. The physical Westcroft Guesthouse building is currently empty and up for sale. Anyone booking this listing will be moved to a different property. Expedia formally investigated this and issued us a partial refund. I strongly recommend messaging the host prior to booking to guarantee you will actually get the Westcroft building and amenities you are paying for."

"The housexwas immaculately clean, spacious, clutter free and comfortable. We hadnt realised it was part of a holiday site but it proved quiet and we enjoyed being able to go the pool which was just opposite and the bar to.play games wghich was next door We wondered if we'd be disturbed by the bar but werent. We also liked veing ckose to the cliff path down to the beach and the bus into Cawsand. All staff were friendly and helpful.We would book to stay here again."

"Lovely area, which we knew from childhood family visits. Loads for kids to do locally. Lots of nice local pubs with decent reasonable food. Great deli. House was perfect for us all. Comfy and spacious. Everyone was sad to leave. "

"General condition of the house was in good order. Location is very good but as stated don't try and drive to the house, we paid 10 for 48 hours down at the main car park, which is very reasonable. The house was cold and had trouble working out the dial on wall heaters to increase the temp. Didn't appreciate the text at 07:00 in the morning of leaving to remind us that we had to be out by 10:00 or be charged more for delaying the cleaners. If you are disabled or in your latter years be warned that there are lots of stairs especially from the bathroom and bedroom in the basement to the living room on the fourth floor. Overall a pleasant stay."
