"Madreselva was magical, it is even more beautiful in person. The views were spectacular! The house was clean, well stocked with everything we needed and had beautiful flower arrangements from the grounds throughout the house. We woke up to the sounds of howler monkeys every morning, ate meals on the palapa, swam in the pool every afternoon and were in awe of all of the animals and birds we saw on the property. We had frequent visits from a coatimundi daily. We saw many species of birds, lizards, agoutis and morpho butterflies everyday. The property manager Carolina is amazing! She made the most delicious breakfasts for us, did laundry and tidied up after us each day. She arranged transportation and excursions and gave excellent suggestions for local attractions. I highly recommend Madreselva, it is a little slice of heaven."

"Rooms are nice and clean with outdoor porch/kitchens. The showers are excellent with pretty tile. Breakfast was one of the best Costa Rican breakfasts that I’ve had. Great Job!"

"The views from this property are gorgeous! The road to get up there is no joke, so yes you do need 4 wheel drive. The pool is huge and perfect temp. Very few mosquitoes, just at dawn and dusk. Lots of seating around the pool area. 9 of us had plenty of space there. Wil was very responsive with any questions we had. We hired Kes to cook breakfast and dinner for 3 days and the food was delicious. The kitchen had what we needed to cook for ourselves on the other days. The primary bedrooms in the main house, pool house and casita are spacious. The two bedrooms downstairs are much smaller with separate entrances and connected by a door you can lock for a little privacy. All the a/c units worked well. The lighting in the kitchen was pretty dim at night, but the lighting in the rest of the property was ok. This property is definitely a bit isolated, so you’re not going to make any quick trips into town. But the location offers incredible views, tons of bird watching, the occasional monkey, and peaceful evenings watching the stars. We really enjoyed our stay there. "

"Trogon was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The property and the location was priceless. The staff was fantastic and always willing to help. The cabins were clean and cozy and with the weather it will probably the best sleep you will ever have. The Food is very good plus there are a few other very good options within a couple of KM's. The bar/lounge was amazing and a Mojito is a must..."
