"Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the desk clerk, Phil who was very helpful. The rooms were not fancy,but just what you need in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The breakfast with self-serve and hot -to order selections was a wonderful amenity. The common room is cheerful and nicely appointed. Overall, a very nice stay."

"Karen at the front desk was absolutely delightful. She saw me struggling with my dog and bags, and helped me to my room. Dan on the housekeeping was so nice. We saw him almost every day. The hotel is incredibly pet friendly. It's so convenient to walk out of your room directly onto the rear lawn, and down toward the river. I had a nice chat with the lady who lives across the river. She also has a dog. The drive to downtown was just a few minutes. I highly recommend the farmer's market (you pass it on the way to downtown Woodstock). The room was very clean. The sink and bathroom door could use some updates, but other than that it was lovely. I would definitely return again with my pup."

"We are a college friends group of 4 couples who graduated in 1975. We enjoyed the closeness to VINS and Queeche Gorge and restaurants. Ample common meeting space for us to sit around and share updates and stories. Puzzled why only 2 vehicles can be parked there when there appears to be a paved space that could accommodate at least 1 if not 2 more cars. Because we shared dorm life, sharing bathrooms and showers was not a huge deal, but know not every bedroom has its own bathroom/shower. The clawfoot tubs with showers require you step over an 18 inch high wall and the tub surface lacks safety treads. An enjoyable stay in a well maintained vintage Vermont home with spectacular views of the fall foilage!"
