Air-Conditioned Villa with Private Pool and Gardens Solely for the use of Guests of Aisling Villa

Aisling villa is located in the village of Chamalevri, away from the bustle of the tourist areas but still within 15 mins travelling time if you wish to visit. Hamalevri boasts a local Kafeneon called Romeo and Juliet Meze Bar, serving a wide range of good food all day. There is a small shop in the next village Asteri (5 min walk)where you can get the essentials. Asteri also boasts a museum Taverna and a kafenion (greek pub). Outside living is part of the experience on Crete and we have a 9m x 4m private pool and sun bathing areas with a number of sun loungers and umbrellas. Beside the pool is a covered pergola with associated barbecue area which has an additional small gas cooker to meet all cooking requirements.
We have lemon trees growing in the garden and it is something else to pick a fresh lemon for your gin and tonic.

A spacious villa in a peaceful location

Set in a rural village location, this spacious villa was just right for us. The furnishings and equipment are not new but they all work and are not shabby. We felt at home and spent most of our two weeks in and around the villa. Richard, the owners agent, introduced himself and he was really helpful and friendly.. We would be happy to stay here again.

Relaxing spot

Aisling Villa was just as advertised, Carol was very helpful before arrival and Richard gave us a warm welcome. The villa is kept spotless as well as the pool and outside areas. We would recommend a stay here, it was difficult to drag ourselves away.

Our 9 days at Aisling Villa

We really enjoyed our time at Aisling Villa. The house is very comfortable and the private garden and pool are delightful. The "welcome" wine and food was very generous and much appreciated. Proximity to Romeo & Juliet Fusion was a real plus: we had several dinners there. The location in central Crete is convenient for exploring the entire island. We would certainly recommed Aisling Villa for others planning to holiday in Crete. In terms of minor improvements: 1. The dishwasher did not clean things especially well. Its dish trays are rusting, and one suspects its days are numbered. Washing dishes by hand is discouraged in the owner's notes, so guests must rely on the dishwasher. 2. Lack of hot water for morning showers was a disappointment - especially when we had 4 people in the villa. There is mention of a booster switch in the notes, but a little more explanation would be welcome, e.g. how long does the booster take to warm water for 4 showers? 3. We met Richard on the day we arrived, and he quickly replaced the non-functional toaster on our 2nd day. However, on our 8th day we tried to contact him (leaving both voice and text messages), but there was no response. We did eventually sort out the issues ourselves, but the lack of response over a 48 hour period was a bit disconcerting.

Traumhaus auf Kreta

Wir waren mit zwei Erwachsenen und drei Kindern (3, 5, 7) für eine Woche in der Aisling Villa und haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus hat eine sehr gute Aufteilung mit 2 Schlafzimmern, 2 Bädern und einem großen Wohn-, Koch-, Essbereich. Vollfunktionsfähige Klimaanlagen in jedem Raum, gute Ausstattung und sehr sauber und gepflegt. Der Garten ist traumhaft angelegt mit Palmen, Hibiskus, Kakteen, viiieel Oleander und natürlich dem großen und sehr gepflegten Pool (ca alle zwei Tage kam jemand früh um ihn zu pflegen). Haus und Garten bieten eine tolle Privatsphäre, bei Fragen oder Problemen ist immer jemand ansprechbar. Mit dem Auto ist man in wenigen Minuten am Strand und bei Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Auch das nur 2 Gehminuten entfernte Romeo&Juliet Fusion Cuisine hat uns sehr gefallen und wir haben uns überall sehr willkommen gefühlt. Bei einem weiteren Kretaurlaub würden wir auf jeden Fall versuchen, wieder in der Aisling Villa unterzukommen. Vielen Dank!

Lovely Aisling Villa

We have just returned from Hamelevri and had a lovely holiday at Aisling Villa. The property is completely private and the gardens and pool area are far nicer than the photographs show. It was quite difficult to find in the dark and we were really glad of Carols detailed directions as we couldn’t get a GPS signal when we landed. The welcome pack was really good far more than we expected. The Villa was comfortable and clean and well equipped, we found Richard was very helpful during our stay ( the pool guy).. It is a little tucked away so a car was a must for us, and we were able to visit a few places along the coast and even drove through the mountains to Spili and Plakia on the other coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we will be able to visit again. Thanks Carol

Liebevoll gepflegtes Anwesen in perfekter Lage

Das Haus ist sauber und gepflegt. Es bietet alles, was man in einem gut ausgestatteten Ferienhaus erwartet. Die Einrichtung ist wohnlich und vermittelt ein angenehmes Ambiente. Die Matratzen sind sehr bequem und weich. Wir haben wunderbar geschlafen. Die Küchenausstattung ist zweckmäßig und ausreichend. Wir haben nichts vermisst. Zwei Bäder, eines mit Dusche, eines mit Badewanne, bieten auch für 4 und mehr Personen ausreichend Platz. Der Außenbereich ist sehr großzügig angelegt. Viele hohe Oleanderbüsche, Jasmin, Olivenbäume, Palmen, Hibiskus und mehr sorgen rund ums Haus für herrlich angenehmen Schatten. Pergolen vor dem Haus und am gemauerten Außengrill sowie Sonnenschirme am Pool garantieren den ganzen Tag ein schattiges Plätzchen. Carol hat eine sehr ausführliche Infomappe vorbereitet und Steve ist vor Ort ein zuverlässiger Ansprechpartner. Wir können dieses Objekt nicht zuletzt wegen der perfekten Lage für Ausflüge rund um die Insel wärmstens empfehlen. Mietwagen dringend erforderlich.

Late summer in Crete

Property was ideal for us as a couple. Possibly a little "cosy" if 4 adults were there all the time. Quite well equipped, although would benefit from some updating of the furniture in the main living room and some more cutlery to save on the dishwasher. It needs to be stated on the website that the entry to the lane is not suitable for a laden hire car as it is very uneven and we managed to "bottom" the car, on reading the info at the villa it advises that all passengers should get out of the car at the end of the lane - a bit late to read this after arrival! We also thought that some of the greenery around the villa would benefit from a good cutting back as it seemed to be harbouring a lot of biting insects and would also open up the view across the valley. Having said all this we had a lovely 2 weeks, the weather was amazing and we would definitely consider a return visit to this property.

Excellent place for lovely and quiet holiday

If you want to have a good and quiet time but not far away from lively Rethymno you have to go! Lovely house just a few minutes driving to the village. Very private with a big pool. Kitchen equipment for all the cooking needs. Great communication with the owner before and during the stay. We hope to get back next year. Thank you Carol 🌴

Top Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!!

Also wir waren super glücklich mit dem Objekt. Das Grundstück ist gepflegt und der Pool herrlich. Vor allem hat uns gefallen, dass wirklich alles da war. Jegliches Küchenutensil, sogar wichtige Lebensmittel, wie Gewürze, Nudeln, Reis, Kaffee, Tee... Und Begrüßungleckerein, Spiele, auch für den Pool... Das Haus bietet ausreichend Platz, die Klimaanlage funktioniert einwandfrei, deutsche TV Sender, w-lan (wenn auch zeitweise wackelig) natürlich ist es nicht das neueste Objekt aber man sollte wirklich den Preis im Auge haben und dafür ist es Top!!! Wir fliegen jedes Jahr nach Kreta und ich würde dort auch wieder buchen. Thank you very much Carol.

Relaxing, wonderful holiday!

Lovely clean and well equipped property. The owners had very kindly provided many provisions, bottles of water, milk, eggs, bread, feta cheese, a bottle of red wine and more, it was very much appreciated as we arrived very late at night! Information about the local shops and restaurants/bars was great and within walking distance. Highly recommend the local restaurants. The pool was cleaned regularly. A Lovely holiday!
