The hotel is close to the town and overlooks the harbour. Parking is a problem you have to pay by the hour in the harbour car park. The rooms are very good and the breakfast is good. The staff are very good

This is a great, modern hotel with an oceanfront view. More like a 5 star hotel. Excellent buffet breakfast and located in the old town. Close to restaurants and shops and beach. Best place to stay in Rethymno in my opinion.

Great hotel at the end of a multi stay trip. The rooms are clean and quiet, the staff friendly and attentive. We found it good value, and the breakfast was excellent. We had a 4 night stay there and it was perfect for exploring the wider area but also being able to easily wander round the Old Town. Parking is conveniently nearby and free if you don’t mind being on the street

Excellent all round apart from the bedroom floor and balcony. This needed to be dusted more regularly. If we ventured that way again we would stay there again as it was close to the Old Town and restaurants.

Great upmarket hotel in a perfect location.

Great location in a quiet bit of town. Only a few minutes walk from the old harbour. Breakfast was excellent with great staff and choice of food.

Rooms were clean and quiet and well appointed. Included breakfast was wonderful and had lots of variety, both hot and cold options. The old fortress and old town shopping and restaurants are very closeby. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Crete in future.

Great location for exploring Rethymno. Plenty of good restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk and easy to find. It would have been nice to have some more loungers around the pool as we tended to struggle to get one after breakfast.

I loved this hotel, and would absolutely stay again. I loved having a balcony and being able to sleep with the doors to it open. Rethymno is a very safe place and the hotel is in an excellent location - everything is very walkable and the hotel makes a great base. The staff were lovely and friendly :)

Great Hotel to stay in Rethymnon Old Town.

Great hotel in a good location on the edge og the old town, 2 mins from the Venetian Port. I was only B&B so I can only comment on the breakfasts but they where really good. Very nice Apart Room, bedroom and living area and nice to have a fridge for milk and beers. If you are visiting Rethymno its a great place to stay and Rethymno itself is lovely.

It was an okay hotel. It’s in a very good location, walkable to all the touristy locations, but was very disappointed that there was no parking at the hotel even though they state it in their highlights/ amenities. You can try to find free parking on the busy street or pay to park across the street. The room was very old and worn down, and the walls are paper thin, like the other reviewers said. You could hear people snoring next door. Breakfast was pretty good however and the pool was nice. Probably could find a better hotel at this price point.

Gem of a hotel!

We will definitely come back to this lovely hotel. Rethymnon is a great town, where the old town blends with the new, offering something for everyone and a great choice of reasonably priced restaurants. The Ideon is perfectly located on the sea front near the Venetian harbour on the outskirts of the old town. The hotel appears to have been recently renovated to a high standard. We had a room on the first floor with sea views and a small Juliet balcony. My only criticism would be that the balcony wasn't big enough to sit on and a small amount of road and noise from the cafe terrace below can be heard during the evenings for a short period. Other than that the room, although small, was very well equipped with lovely comfortable beds and good pillows and lovely bathroom with a fantastic drench shower and good quality toiletries. We booked on a B&B basis and breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. The cafe bar also offer a limited snack menu which is excellent quality and good value. The pool area is lovely but only has a limited number of beds however, although the hotel was very busy, we had no problem in finding free beds and parasols. Finally, the staff at the hotel are all fantastic, without exception. Always friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you Hotel Ideon for a lovely stay!
