The hotel was very nice, although tucked away from most shopping or dining places, the restaurants and bars were good. Our only negative was the breakfast was a little expensive and the spa service asked if we wanted firm pressure or light pressure and even though we asked for firm pressure and told the lady we wanted firm pressure it was more of a Rub down than a massage. Otherwise we enjoyed everything about our stay.

Never having been to Rio de Janeiro, I relied on the photos of and from the Hotel as well as the reviews. Since the moment we arrived to the time we left, we were elated about our choice. Ipanema was walkable. Our fourth floor balcony with ocean view was simply breathtaking . I have to add that our bed was SO CRAZY comfortable, were it not for the view tempting me from bed just there between our curtains, I might not have seen ANY of Rio. OH, the food! Their restaurants were superb and service/staff that truly spoiled us all week. I would highly recommend Sheraton Grand Rio and would return there in a heart beat. THANK you Sheraton and Expedia for another trip of a lifetime, truly.🌟❤️

I had an absolutely incredible stay at the Sheraton Rio de Janeiro! From the moment I arrived, every single employee went above and beyond to make me feel genuinely welcomed. The attention to detail was outstanding — from the perfectly prepared room to the thoughtful service at every touchpoint, you can truly feel that guest experience is their top priority. One of the things that really sets this hotel apart is that it’s the only hotel in Rio with direct access to a private beach. Not only was it beautiful and exclusive, but it also made me feel completely safe and relaxed throughout my stay. Having that peace of mind while enjoying the ocean was priceless. Another huge plus was the heated pool. Not every place in Rio offers this, and it made all the difference, especially on cooler days when I still wanted to swim and unwind comfortably. What really made a difference for me was the kindness and flexibility the team showed by allowing me a late check-out. It gave me the chance to fully enjoy my last day in Rio without feeling rushed, and I’m so grateful for that extra level of care. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay unforgettable — I can’t wait to return!

Toilet did not flush and backed up 3 times No fan in the bathroom The phone in the room did no work. Check in . Need more Staff at the conceirge desk are excellent Breakfast second rate. Pool resturant staff very good

The property overall is pretty good from outside to the entry and to the spa. However, the hotel room itself is very disappointing! The carpet is dirty and dust is all around the furniture. The bathroom is small. The room feel like a motel room. Not enough towels.
