Big Meadows Lodge

"Big Meadow is rustic luxury in a beautiful setting. Much like the other lodges/inns along the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, it offers a great place to land for a few days to hike, explore or just take in the majesty of the Shendandoah's. The rooms are comfortable set among the trees and property. The dining options are a good value. You can get breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks in a variety of ways. The people were very friendly and accommodating. It was just a terrific place to unwind and unplug (wi-fi and internet are almost non-existent in the rooms but you can catch up, if you must, in the lodge and the TV only gets 11 channels). For us, it was EXACTLY what we were looking for."

"We had a great stay. We were looking for a quiet, secluded spot to spend the week as a family and we really enjoyed this property! The hot tub was relaxing, the wildlife was great, and the home was cozy. We traveled to Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, Buc-ee’s, Massanutten Water Park and Monticello. All attractions were 45 mins- 1 hr 45 mins away from the cabin- depends on what you’re interested in doing."

"This property was very clean and exactly as it appeared in the pictures. You can’t beat the view! We enjoyed our time here, especially standing on the back deck with our morning coffee looking at the mountains. The host is very responsive. We would stay here again!"

"Really nice place to stay! Beds were a on the soft side for our liking but it was a comfy place overall. We didn't have service when we arrived so make sure to take screenshots of the wifi name & password before hand. If youre arriving late make sure to stop for groceries or nabbing dinner before arrival its about 20 plus mins to the normal grocery/ restaurant in Luray. However Fairview Grocery is super cute with a limited deli and has locally sourced basics and is about 10 mins. Definitely 5 stars!"

"We had a wonderful stay at the Hideaway cabin. The cabin is confortable, well taken care of and was in pristine conditions at our arrival. It had all the amenities to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Private, beautifully situated, serene, surrounded by nature made it the perfect place for our vacation. My family and I stayed for a week, were able to hike the trails in Shenandoah NP, tour historical homes in the area, visit the famous Luray caves, play and rest! Perfect place to decompress. Michael was a very attentive host from the beginning ensuring we had a smooth arrival, pleasant stay and even follow up after our departure. Thank you Michael for your hospitality! We are planning our future trip to the area and will definitely return to the Hideaway cabin."

"We had an amazing time. Very secluded which was what I was looking for. Place provided everything we needed including towels and toilet paper. Very clean and beds were so comfy. Definitely going back!!! I would suggest a 4 wheel or AWD vehicle."

"We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The historic cabin next door, the ponds, walking paths, and sound of the mountain stream all made for a serene environment that we didn’t want to leave. The cabin itself had everything we could have needed and more - very comfortable. Being within walking distance of popular hikes where parking is normally difficult was also a luxury."
