Mr hook

Lovely small cottage with a great view of Salobrena and also the Sierra Nevadas. Even with my limited Spainish we were made welcome by our host Virginia who then showed us around the town. Even though it was mid winter the weather was good, there were a number of restaurants still open. The accommodation is easily accessible to town then to the highways and we were able to go skiing one day and visit beaches later on. I can see this place being slightly less congested over the busy summer months when I plan to revisit. Hasta pronto

Totalmente recomendable

La casa es pequeña pero no le falta de nada. Camas cómodas, el sofá cama nuevo, menaje de cocina completo, horno eléctrico nuevo, ropa de cama y toallas de sobra. La limpieza de 10. Un lugar tranquilo con unas vistas espectaculares. La piscina no la hemos disfrutado porque es invierno, pero en verano tiene que ser una gozada. Y la propietaria encantadora y atenta. Si podemos, repetiremos seguro

Lovely holiday in traditional cortijo in rural Salobrena

Perfect property for our first two weeks for the two of us and our two Hungarian vizsla dogs. At the end of an off beat road surrounded by fruit plantations. All we needed in the property for a comfortable stay. When the family arrived for our third week..2 adults, two teens..not quite as comfortable. Advertising it as a sleeps 6 is pushing it a bit..not a big enough or well enough equipped for 6, perfect for 4! We have stayed in the Salobrena area many times and enjoyed visiting our old haunts and then returning to our cortijo.

Vacaciones sin complicaciones

Maravilloso trato del anfitrión, solucionando cada cosa que me comentamos al instante, siempre preocupados en que nuestra estancia fuese agradable. Nos compraron una cama nueva, una sombrilla, una barbacoa, cubo de la basura, bombona de butano.... Magnífica piscina dándole el sol todo el día lo que hace que el agua este calentita. Estancia perfecta, tienes todo lo necesario para no salir de allí. Mucho fresquito a todas horas dentro de la casa abriendo todas las ventanas,incluso a medio día. Todo buenas palabras para nuestras vacaciones. Muchas gracias!... volveremos!

Preciosas vistas

La casa tenía de todo y las vistas al castillo preciosas desde la piscina y la azotea. La localización en el campo pero a escasos minutos del pueblo. La chica que nos recibió fue muy amable y atenta. Repetiriamos!

Preis/Leistung nicht gerechtfertigt...

Auf den Bildern des Inserat sah das Objekt Einladend aus. Für die Hausübergabe trafen wir uns in Salobreña mit einer Bekannten der Vermieter. Diese war sehr bemüht und zeigte uns im Schnelldurchlauf das Anwesen. Der Weg zum Haus ist eine Sackgasse. Dieser ist in so schlechtem Zustand, dass wir jedem ein SUV Fahrzeug empfehlen oder ein Mietwagen der sowieso schon in sehr schlechtem Zustand ist. Der Pool war leider aufgrund der Temperaturen nicht mehr nutzbar. Hatte aber generell sowieso zu wenig Wasser sodass die Automatische Reinigungsanlage den Dreck auf der Wasseroberfläche gar nicht absaugen konnte. Das Haus selber ist ziemlich abgewohnt. Sämtliche Verwandtschaft hat vermutlich etwas zur Inneneinrichtung beigetragen. Die Schränke im Schlafzimmer sind mit Mengen von durcheinander gewürfelter Bettwäsche vollgestopft sodass mein die Eigenen Kleider nicht in die Schränke hängen konnte. Ebenso die Küchenutensilien. Bei den Bratpfannen war die Teflonbeschichtung so defekt, dass wir von einem Benutzen abgesehen haben. Der Backofen innen Verrostet und vermutlich Irgendwo vom Sperrmüll mitgenommen. Außer ein wenig Frühstücken haben wir deswegen nicht in dem Haus gekocht. Sender am Fernseher gibt es nur in Spanisch. Fazit: zum reinen Übernachten und Duschen ganz ok....aber dafür könnte man für diesen Preis auch ins Hotel. Einziges wirkliches Plus....die tolle Aussicht auf Salobreña....Wiederholungsgefahr.....leider Null.

Nice and quiet place

Astonishing view from the roof on Salobreña castle on one side and the sierra on the other side. Very quiet place in the middle of mango trees with a swimming pool and all you need to enjoy your stay. 1 hour-drive from Grenada and 45 minutes from Malaga. Thank you to Virginia and her mother for their warm welcome.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft

Tolles Haus mit eigenem Pool und Dachterrasse. Blick auf die alte Burg. Sehr sauber und mit allem nötigen ausgestattet. Gasherd auf der Terrasse, super zum Fisch braten :-) Ein Highlight in unserem Urlaub. Sehr netter Kontakt mit Vermietern. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

bel environnement mais bruyant

Ce gite est bien situé avec une vue superbe et dans les plantations toutefois l'irrigation des champs dans les rigoles est situé le long des chambres et fait le bruit d'une cascade toute la nuit. De plus, nous avons de nombreuses coupures d'eau dans la semaine. Les propriétaires sont sympatiques.

A little gem

Just returned to rainy Yorkshire (UK) from a glorious week in sunny Salobrena at this delightful, good value, cortijo. I do not have enough adjectives to describe the location or the little farmhouse, nestled a mile out of the town (very handy for the Lidl supermarket!). The house is a perfect home from home; an array of useful extra items, bottles of water, games, books, magazines and toiletries. The interior is homely, light, clean and comfortable (although a firmer double bed mattress could be a good idea) and also there is plenty of bed linen and towels. We also liked the large ‘walk in’ powerful shower in the bathroom. The exterior is outstanding, with the pleasant shaded front veranda, the pool (with the most spectacular views) and various places to relax and soak up the sunshine. However the icing on the cake has to be the roof terrace. There are literally 360 degree views of; the sea (about 2km away), Salobrena castle (even more spectacular at night) on the hill above whitewashed houses spilling down below it, then the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the distance. As mentioned the house is conveniently placed, in a quiet rural location with no immediate neighbours (about 1km off the main road) a short 5 minute drive to the supermarket, the town and the beach. Salobrena is a great little Spanish town, full of actual locals as well as Spanish holiday makers, a few other nationalities on holiday and hardly any Brits. The old traditional part of town, leading up to the castle is delightful and then the castle itself is well worth a visit, even just to experience the jaw dropping views. Along the beach front there are various restaurants, cafes, and bars with varied and reasonably priced menus. It was also easy to reach other places of interest; Frigiliana, Nerja, Granada. We were warmly welcomed by the very friendly members of the owners’ family and with my poor Spanish and their bit of English (and the miracle of ‘Google translate’!) we got on fine. We even went with them to a Flamenco dancing show, put on by a group of local ladies and girls, and attended by all their families. We felt honored to be part of a local celebration, not something put on for the tourists. We rarely return to holiday destinations, let alone to a specific accommodation, however on this occasion I think there is a strong chance that there will be a return visit in the future! Buena relacion calidad-precio

Casa de campo con piscina y bonitas vistas sobre la costa tropical, tambien se ve el mar y sierra nevada. Muy limpio. Un problema, el colchon o somier de la cama de matrimonio es demasiado blando, aconsejo que lo cambien. Excelente relacion calidad - precio.
