Honestly don’t know why this place has such high ratings. Mission street and the block immediately surrounding this hotel has homelessness and rampant drug use. You will see drug use, the most filthy and smelly conditions, and is generally unsafe.
The last day I experienced what a few others did where the virtual key stopped working. I was unable to get back into the building despite more than an hour left until my checkout time. Calling the hotel number no one answers, and you can’t leave a message as the mailbox is full. I had to wait until someone else left and tailgate in to grab my stuff and leave.
Inside the hotel a a bit rundown but overall ok. The bathrooms are very small and are cleaned once a day, which depending on usage is ok or not enough. The showers were very clean and well maintained. The back patio “ambiance” is a joke.. you hear homeless yelling randomly and the smell of urine.
