Hotel was okay but the pod itself was very stuffy. No way to make it cooler or increase ventilation.
I booked this for a one-night biz trip because I loved the idea of sleeping in a pod. Gotta say, the pod delivered – it's pretty novel. And you can't beat the price. To be expected but still worth noting: the bed linens set up is _very_ hostel-like – unforgiving mattress, thin sheet, and slightly heavier sheet as a blanket. Woke up with that familiar hostel crick in my neck and back (... but I am getting older, after all). Locking up your suitcase with a bike lock is kind of a joke, considering people can still crack open your suitcase if it doesn't lock, but the lockers and in-pod safe were a nice touch. Women's rooms have a bathroom in them, so you don't need to use the communal shower for the entire floor. Service was good – everyone's friendly. It's adjacent to the world's saddest Chipotle, but I ate there anyway, obviously. I liked the location: literally a 4-minute walk from the Powell station. I felt safe enough. Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the idea of sleeping in a pod (like me) but make sure they understand that they're getting a legit hostel situation.
The Pod was great, however, the room and pod were sweltering hot. If they figure out how to cool the rooms, which should be easy in SF, I would gladly stay here again.
I stayed in their female room. It was very clean and felt secure!
Not much space other than sleeping, but this was perfect for my stay. They gave me an extra blanket as I requested too.
Recommend it!
I stayed there for a week whilst moving. Pod was tidy and comfy. Fair amount of amenities that help cut down on the costs normally associated with travel. It has a safe inside to put your wallet and phone. There's a kitchen to cook for yourself. Centrally located and close to shops. A washing machine and dryer in the hotel. Overall, was exactly what I was looking for!
It's a nice clean hostel but you can hear every noise of the person in the upper pod room is making when she's moving. Overall positive but I'm not sure if I'll come back given that it's $70+. Paying a little more and staying in Airbnb will be better.
