House was clean and roomy. Decor was good. Good location. Views from rooftop were beautiful.
We could have used more wine glasses and more coffee cups.
This home is signature Santa Fe—anadobe with tile and brick floors, big as throughout, with lots of Southwest art and decor. All the necessary amenities were provided.
The only disappointments were that the blinds had no cords to let in the beautiful SF light and the dishwasher wasn’t fixed after being told a plumber would be sent. The fans and window ac units were very much appreciated and took care of kate aftrn heat before it gets cool in the evenings. All in all, would stay at this property again.

August stay at Moonstar
This is a very lovely home, but unfortunately, does need some minor repairs and updating. The bedrooms and living areas are all well appointed. The home is NOT air conditioned - important for those considering a summer stay. The management company did bring in portable AC units, which made sleeping more comfortable, but the living areas could be warm in the afternoons. The roof deck is GORGEOUS at night to sit, enjoy a drink, and chat with friends. The only other drawback was a little rodent visitor, but all in all, a nice stay.
We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our visit to Santa Fe. The house is large and comfy and great for a big group or family reunion with lots of private space. Our only feedback would be that the property appears to be in need of a refresh and a little TLC...for instance, the window coverings are paper shades and if you lift them up, you'll see peeling paint and some wood damage underneath. Fixtures are old and a few things didn't work (nothing major that impacted our stay.) Really nothing that a good fresh coat of paint and a nice deep cleaning of the house wouldn't fix. The decor is really lovely and in the true Santa Fe spirit. The roof deck has amazing views and was used by all. The top step is a little wobbly, again, a simple fix. Overall, a great place that we'd visit again.

Mixed Feelings
This property has so much potential hence the title mixed feelings. My profession is a realtor and I travel a lot during the year. My family and I visit Santa Fe a couple times a year. The features I really liked about this property are location, the size of the house and lot, And the accommodations for large group with pets. The house can comfortably sleep eight people. I’m sure when this house were newer it was a fabulous property. However, I can fairly say that it is just tired and time for the home to be freshened and modernized. The walls and trim Definitely need to be repainted and all of the mattresses need to be replaced. Pretty uncomfortable. The management company did bring us a topper for one of the mattresses where you can fill the springs when you lay on it. The two leather chairs in the living room are torn and the sleeper sofa needs to be replaced. All of the sheets were very scratchy. Maybe too much starch. Most of the kitchen equipment is very old and very little kitchen tools to use if you’re cooking. We had to go out and buy wooden spoons and a mixer. The glassware is very minimal and what is there is very old. The tv’s need to be replaced by smart tvs so guests can stream. The throw blankets in the den are rough like tapestry. The lighting throughout the yard does not work so it is very dark and hard to see where you are walking or driving up the driveway. This has the potential to be a 5 star rating but it’s not right now.
Our family had a wonderful stay at Moonstar... close enough to everything to be convenient, but just far enough out that we could enjoy relaxing in the peace and quiet.
Physical keys and 1 gate opener that you have to pickup and drop off at the management property is a bit of a hassle especially with a larger group. All around though it was a nice place to stay.
Only one small issue was the wifi. We had some difficulty with login, but resolved without contacting management. Had a great fire in the fireplace each night. Wife loved the large bathtub. It's a great place for our 7 that we brought. With 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, everyone had plenty of space. The view from the roof was fantastic.
We stayed several nights. The house is a great size and layout. The rooftop terrace is amazing. We watched the sunset every night. We would stay again. There is an “old house” smell when you first come in but we just opened the windows to air it out. The only issue we had was the spotty internet. Not a big deal unless you have to work.
Overall, a great experience.

Good if you know what to expect
This is the second year we have stayed in this property, and while it is clean, it needs some TLC. For instance one of the kitchen cabinets has a hair band to keep it closed. I had to buy wine glasses. The kitchen needs organization for sure. Things are feeling a bit shabby, in what has been basically a good place to stay.
Stayed the week of Xmas … did lots of cooking the kitchen was very poor . Old appliances.. nothing worked right .. very outdated. Dishes had an old film on them . For what we payed you would think the kitchen would have newer appliances and accessories.
We loved how secluded the home felt, but we were a quick and easy drive in to Santa Fe. Building a fire every night and hanging out on the patio was a highlight. The kitchen was well stocked and made cooking easy for us. The portable A/C unit kept the main room cool during the day and at night we opened the windows in the bedrooms to stay cool. Thankfully, the nights were cool. I'm not sure how it would be in the summer. The internet is very slow and in at least one of the bedrooms we didn't get any coverage. Since we had two students zooming classes, it was a little stressful at times, but as long as the rest of us stayed off the internet when one of them had a class, it worked. All of us agreed that we would be excited to stay there again!
Everyone enjoyed their stay here! Upon arrival, we got to experience the great desert yard and views from the rooftop patio. It's close to town and not far from the mountain for skiing. The family spent most of the time hanging in the large kitchen, sitting by the outside fireplace, and catching sun on the rooftop patio. The dogs loved the open space to run and explore, but bring your tweezers as there are tons of ground cacti and you'll be plucking needles from their paws and legs frequently. They loved it nonetheless! We also experienced about 12" of snow throughout most of our trip - it was so lovely! I don't know if this is particularly normal weather for Santa Fe or if we experienced a fluke winter storm. As other reviews have mentioned, the dishwasher is not great - it leaves a gritty white residue on everything that may be solved by using a simple rinse aid. The mattress in the master bedroom has a dip in it that was pretty uncomfortable. An additional gate opener would also be super convenient for larger groups. Those minor things aside, we all had a great time and agreed that we would definitely stay here again!
The house is very private with a very large, natural yard, and lots of amazing art. The roof deck has amazing views. Very well stocked and comfortable. It would be helpful to have wood and lighters for all the wonderful fireplaces, or at least recommendations on where to buy it, we found wood and lighters at Ace Hardware.
Perfect property and location. The house is just as listed and the photos are accurate. The location could not have been better. Very close to Canyon Road galleries, restaurants, and shopping. There is also a great hiking trail less than a mile away.
