Lovely, large room. Very friendly staff at reception. Note that the walls are a bit thin between rooms and flats in the house next door. Otherwise, perfect.

Whilst the decor was a little dated our stay was great. Staff helpful and friendly. You can't get breakfast at The Maynard but their sister hotel on the corner was just minutes away, and you got a discount for being guests at The Maynard. Staff/Service excellent. The only thing i would say is my friend was unable to take a bath or shower as there was not a slip mat to assist in their safety.

Stayed here for one night just me and my little girl. Lovely welcome upon arrival by the owner. Brilliant room, has everything we needed. Comfy bed and fresh towels. Fast WiFi and nice hot showier. Lovely and quiet throughout the day and night. No complaints. Would definitely return.

I stayed in a twin room with my granddaughter for 2 nights in a twin room which had a double and a single bed. We were very impressed with our room as it was very clean and spacious. The property seemed to be well maintained and I was able to park outside after purchasing a permit for £10 for 2 nights. My only concern was that there wasn’t a staff member present later in the day or first thing in the morning and I had to just leave the key on the desk when I left just before 9am, checkout is 10am.

Clean and spacious family room in a lovely part of Scarborough, within easy reach of town and the South beach but away from the hustle and bustle. Welcoming staff and room was clean and well maintained. The shower was very weak and our top floor room warm at night but a fan helped. Good value overall.

Lovely Hotel

Lovely hotel in Victorian townhouse perched on the South Cliff at Scarborough. Very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were particularly good. Thank you for the nice big scale map.

2 night stay 5/7/25

Had a 2 night stay, checked in at 12.15 was offered parking permit £10 for 2 days which was a bonus. We were in a a room with 2 single beds which was on the top floor, 66 steps. The room was clean with ample storage and a well stocked tea tray. The bathroom was modern and clean with good toiletries provided. Only negative was could hear the people in the next room and could hear an extractor fan from another room whenever they used their bathroom. Would stay again if on a lower floor.

The hotel is clean . But a little bit dated . You have to go to the sister hotel around the corner for breakfast. The staff were brilliant. The service in the was very friendly food in the sister hotel was great i struggled to eat the large breakfast but the pancakes were beautiful.

Claire, the owner/manager, is very friendly and welcoming. She gave us lots of information on the area and places to eat. Parking was easy, on the street near the hotel. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, servicing our room daily. The hotel is only 3-4 minutes walk from the cliff lift and paths down to South Bay near the Spa complex. Our room was large, with two double beds and two comfortable chairs to relax at the end of a busy day. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there should we visit Scarborough again.

Weekend getaway

Arrived friday and weather was lovely, when we arrived we were told we were in another hotel and being upgraded. The owners went through parking then we were showed our room. The room was so hot so throughout the stay we struggled but otherwise the room was lovely. We stayed 2 nights and there was plenty of info available for food and things to do.

The Maynard is a very atmospheric hotel. Our room was spacious clean and comfortable, a perfect refuge at the end of the day. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was good. On our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly woman.
