Woodsy rural cabin on the Middle Caney River.
This cabin stay can be as outdoorsy as you want to be. Hike the woods & prairie or rest up in the cozy comfort of our big bed or sit in front of the fireplace. Cell phones may not work due to the rock cliffs. At night, its is so dark, city people might get scared. Great star watching on the big deck. Full kitchen with dishes, silverware, pot & pans and serving trays. BBQ grill outside on the deck.

The kids and I stayed here for the week of Valentine’s Day and it was a great stay. Clean..nice and comfortable. The only thing I didn’t notice was WiFi but that ain’t no deal breaker. It was a great stay. Definitely recommend and would stay again.
We both love the outdoors. This was an amazing little get away from the city. All tucked away in the trees, and on the river. Just a few minutes from Butcher Falls which is an added bonus, so beautiful. Anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This place is a must. Happy Trails.
This property is nestled in a secluded valley just outside of Sedan. It’s a quaint little “cabin” with all amenities for comfort. Nice size deck overhangs the canopy and overlooks the stream below. I highly recommend. The only issue I could see is the stairs to the upstairs bedroom. If stairs are not a problem, then this place is for you!!!
Really enjoyed my time at this cabin. Cell connection is spotty or nonexistent which I liked.
The wall heater kept you plenty warm during the day and the many blankets kept you warm at night.
For Kansas the scenery was perfect.
The only complaint I have is “hot tub” was mentioned on favorite amenities, and I did not see one at the property.
Perfectly peaceful place to just get away for a couple of days! House was perfectly cozy for the 2 of us. Mary was so easy to work with! Her store in town is adorable and coffee was delicious! The town of Sedan was perfectly quaint but we were able to figure out everything we needed. Went nature exploring and were able to see the properties waterfall and even some buffalo! The distillery tour in town was interesting as well. Would definitely gladly stay again if back in the area! Thank you! 😃
The host are super helpful and the property is pretty and well kept and the bed is very comfortable

Good thing we found a broom. There was a massive amount of beetles in the house that we continually had to sweep into piles. They were harmless but annoying. We even brought several home with us in our bags. Before booking for a hunting trip I had asked if I left early could I get a refund. I was told via message that as long as I stayed 3 nights I would be refunded the remaining if I left early. After staying 4 nights and then heading out the property manger would never respond to my requests for a refund on the last night.

The owner couldn't get a hold of for over two hours. Had to get their phone number by a business in town and the owner didn’t answer. Door locked. The patio furniture didn’t have pillows. Looked in the window and window was dirty. Plus with two different GPS"s had a very difficult time finding the cabin on a dirt road. No sign on property near road showing address or name.
With all this we decided to go to the next town to stay one night. Do NOT charge me. If you do I will call my bank and tell the why I should not pay.
I will never use your service again !!
We rented this cute cabin as a dark place to enjoy the Perseid Meteor Shower in mid-August. The night sky was beautiful and it was easy viewing from the big deck. Check in with Mary was very easy. The cabin was well appointed; every need was anticipated and the two air conditioners kept things cool. The master bed was very comfortable. There is low cell phone service here, so DEFINITELY download some entertainment before you come.
We had anticipated that this rural cabin would be in a remote cow pasture away from the road, but it’s right off a quiet road maybe 25 yards, and next to a low flow river/creek (low flow in August…much more in Spring) where you can hear the animals drinking at night.
We were able to use the cabin as home base as we visited the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, the Dalton Gang/Coffeyville History Museum, and Pawhusksa OK (where Ree Drummond’s Food Network’s Pioneer Woman is based). Very fun! Check their schedule to see when the Lodge (where they film the Food Network show) will be open.
