It was wonderful. The food was great, the Es Trenc beach is the best within a few feet of the hotel. This was our second time at this hotel. The harbor was about a mile walk away and beautiful. We will take the day cruise to Cabrera next time. Thank you.

Brilliant location looking out to several beaches with immediate access from the hotel. Clean, well-maintained and spacious room although furnishings are dated. Breakfast and dinner are great with a wide selection include GF. Quality of individual items varies but generally very good. My only criticism is that there’s far too few sun beds for the number of guests, so they manage this by charging extra. We just spent the day away from the hotel instead. A few other things require modest additional charges, eg coffee pods, beach towels. Some nice local walks and a few shops and bars, but not too commercialised.

Upon arrival, we were informed that no hotel parking was available and that parking was first come, first served. When we asked about reserving a space later in our stay, we were told parking was fully booked for the duration of our visit. This was disappointing because parking availability was an important factor in choosing this hotel, and the listing stated that parking was available for guests. We were advised to use street parking, but due to the hotel’s proximity to the beach, nearby spaces were consistently full. Throughout our stay, we had to park approximately half a mile away. Walking that distance in 94°F (34°C) heat with little shade was particularly inconvenient while traveling with a small child. We encountered a similar issue with the pool. Although pool chairs were presented as an amenity at check-in, we were told they were fully reserved for our entire stay. At the pool, many chairs appeared unoccupied, but we could only use them until the guests who reserved them arrived. This made using the pool difficult while supervising a child. There were positives: the room was very nice, breakfast was enjoyable, and the beach location was excellent. However, limited access to parking and amenities significantly affected our experience. Guests arriving by car should be aware that hotel parking may be unavailable and street parking may require a considerable walk.

Wow - where to start? We had the most amazing stay at Universal Hotel Marques. First of all the location is unbelievable: the only hotel in Colonia de Sant Jordi with this prime location: sea on three sides, and the last hotel before the start of the beach (Es Coto public beach which is part of the bay with the stunning Es Trenc beach). You cannot beat this location. We had a sea view room on floor 1 which overlooked the pool and then the sea - so stunning, plus private sun loungers as well as table and chairs on our large balcony. The hotel have thought of everything: free wifi, free cold water refill stations throughout the hotel and so many hooks in the rooms (so necessary to avoid tossing clothes on the bed, there were hooks everywhere). Next the food: we stayed half board and the buffet was excellent! At least 25 dishes plus show cooking fresh food at breakfast (omelettes) and dinner (fish/meat). The dinner food included pates, fruits, salads (change daily), fish, meat, lasagne, pizza, pasta, paella, chips, potatoes, cooked vegetables, soup and multiple desserts. The bar drinks were also very good and strong and we received welcome drinks our first night. The best thing about the bar is outdoor seating that wraps around the hotel for sea and beach views - stunning! There were very few negatives: no door on the bathroom area and a window to the shower cubicle from the bedroom so privacy is a problem depending on who you are sharing with.
