As owners of this charming log cabin, we greatly appreciate the millions of visitors who share our love for the Smoky Mountains. We hope that you have a delightful and memorable visit and we will do our part by offering you great lodging!

We appreciate the traveler's joy when they arrive at their vacation destination and discover that the lodging they booked is attractive, comfortable, reasonably priced, well-located and meticulously clean and well-cared for. We believe that you will find all of this when you arrive at American Gem! We appreciate our first-time guests and loyal repeat guests.

Convenient, Easily Accessible Location. Please, no parking on grass. There is parking for 2 vehicles.

American Gem is located in Echota, a log cabin resort with entry from Winfield Dunn Parkway (a.k.a. Smoky Mountains Parkway and State Highway 66), the primary thoroughfare for visitors arriving via Interstate 40. Echota is located about 1/4-mile and on the opposite side of the Parkway from the impressive Sevierville Convention Center. It is about two miles north of Sevierville's central business district. Many churches, restaurants. retail stores, grocery stores and much more are within easy driving distance.

Ideal for One to Four Guests. There s NO Sleeper Sofa...

American Gem is a one-level cabin with two guest suites. Each suite has a king-sized bed with high quality linens, a corner Jacuzzi tub and an adjoining bathroom with step-in shower. Both suites are equipped with flat panel TV's, Infinity (Comcast) cable TV and Internet. There are rocking chairs on the front porch and a spacious back screened porch.

David Gothard and wife, Kathy are actively involved in cabin rentals and maintenance. David is an active Tennessee-licensed real estate broker. Kathy's real estate license is now in retired status. As an active licensee, David is required and does hereby disclose his personal interest in renting this cabin. As a prospective renter of American Gem, you acknowledge and agree that by making a rental reservation and/or signing the rental agreement provided, you are providing written consent to David's continued involvement in your respective rental transaction.

The cabin was well located. It was close to all of the attractions but secluded enough to enjoy the beauty of the Tennessee mountains. The cabin was clean and well equipped with what you need.

Home Visit for Dad's Birthday

Good location about 40 minutes to Knoxville (Ball Camp) and close to hiking and tubing in the Smokies. Very relaxing stay then the batteries were rechanged.

Wedding at Pigeon Forge

We loved the cabin. It was perfect for our long weekend stay for a wedding. The location was perfect. Right off the main highway from Seiverville to Gatlinburg. Close to everything. Kathy called and spoke to me personally prior to our stay to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend this cabin.

Great Cabin! Great Location!

This cabin was great for our Christmas trip! It was super clean and so warm and cozy! It’s in a perfect location! It’s away from the hustle and bustle but minutes away from “The Island” and all the activities around the island. It’s close to Target, Walmart, tons of food places and shops. It’s a very short drive to Dollywood and Gatlinburg! The host could not have been any friendlier and easily accessible! We would gladly stay here again! The Dunn’s

Ponies in the Smokies Visit

This little cabin was perfect for our stay to visit the Convention Center in Sevierville. All the items in here were well thought out as far as needs go for your vacation stay. I would have liked a grill or flat iron to cook outside but we managed without it. The owner was very prompt with replies and we had no issues.

Outside property looked very nice. Entering onto the porch with rockers very inviting although to chilly to sit. Entering very cozy. 2 bedrooms with each a restroom makes it nice for multiple people. Eveything you would need in the kitchen. Back screened in patio with rockers would again been nice if better weather. Enjoyed our stay, great communication with property manager. Thank you very much. Will keep in mind for future visits to the area.
