Cabin offers peace, quiet, nature and privacy
If you are looking for privacy and a peaceful setting, look no further. 30 Acre Haven is located on 30 plus acres and is very private. The log cabin was built in 1987 but recently upgraded with modern kitchen and bathrooms. Breathe the fresh country air as you enjoy your first cup of coffee or breakfast tea with local honey on the screened porch. If you like wildlife, you might see some deer, squirrels, rabbits, woodpeckers, wild turkeys or an occasional bear. After breakfast there are many options for your day. You can tour vineyards, breweries, caverns, historic homes, canoe or kayak the Shenandoah River. The fishing is great too. Be sure to get a license. There are so many activities and adventures awaiting you. Rainy day? No problem. Relax on the screened porch with a great book or watch the birds from either porch. How many birds can you identify? Our National Audubon Society Field Guide to Birds Eastern Region will help. Children can enjoy making their own log cabin with our Lincoln Logs.
For evening dinner, throw some steaks, salmon, hamburgers or other favorite meat and veggies on the gas grill. After dinner kick back and enjoy rocking on the front porch while appreciating the serenity of the moment or sit on the patio and watch the galaxy as you plan your next day’s exciting adventure. After a fun filled day, you will be ready for a good night’s sleep. Many of our guests have mentioned our comfortable beds in their reviews. Rise and shine! If you set the Ninja Coffee timer, your coffee is ready. The cabin is located in the Page Valley, a small valley within the Shenandoah Valley. Page Valley is nestled between the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the Massanutten Mountains to the west. It is one of the most scenic areas of the valley with beautiful panoramic views.

This is the perfect place to stay if you like comfort, privacy, and peace and quiet while convenient to Shenandoah NP and the Elkton area! Hosts were excellent in every way!
Wonderful home for a fall getaway—quiet, serene, cozy, with picturesque views from the back porch. House was clean and very comfortable. Communication with owners was excellent. Surrounding Page County is beautiful. Recommend whole-heartedly.
Great location and well stocked cabin. Perfect layout for our family with two young kids. Quick drive to Luray and the local town of Elkton. Drove to both park entrances during our trip for quick access to hiking trails.
Another great weekend at the 30 acre haven. We have come here numerouse times for vacation and are already planning our next. We cant wiat to return. Peaceful quiet nights and great scenery.
Our six-night stay at this property was the highlight of our trip to the mountains. The front porch of the cabin was our favorite place to relax while enjoying visits from deer and a wide variety of birds. The cabin was cozy and had everything you might need for your stay. Would definitely choose this location for a return visit.
We stayed over Easter Weekend with our family of five. There are good reasons that this property has consistently exceptional reviews. It is just as advertised: clean, well-equipped, comfortable, picturesque. Hosts are welcoming and communicate well. Location was excellent for trip to the national park. A great spot for groups or a family.
Great place,—peaceful, cozy, surrounded by nature. Truly refreshing!
We recently had the pleasure of staying in a charming cabin, and it was exactly the peaceful retreat we needed. Surrounded by trees, birdsong, and fresh air. The cabin offered a true sense of tranquility. Feeding the horses was simply enjoyable. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Excellent communication with the Host! If you're looking for a quiet place to relax, reflect, and recharge, I can't recommend this cabin highly enough. I'll definitely be coming back.
Listing is accurate. Pictures are accurate. A beautiful and relaxing stay for a weekend! Bill, the owner, was really helpful. The house is spotless and fully stocked. The grounds are quiet and peaceful, definitely private and the birds are a welcome sight and sound. Very comfortable space for my family of four adults, and more than enough space for everyone. The screened in porch/dining area is a welcomed touch! Would definitely return in the future!
The cabin was so clean and organized with all the comforts of home! Bill was very helpful and offered immediate help if needed, thankfully everything was seamless so didn't require any special assistance. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was warm and cozy with special touches of fall decor by CK. Sitting on the front porch is a must. There are plenty of birds to enjoy and we also got a visit from a young doe while enjoying our morning coffee. We would definitely rent this place again.
We chose this cabin as a "home base" for doing things around the area (e.g. Luray, Shenandoah National Park, etc.). It's a very nice, quiet cabin up on a hill that can be a getaway all on its own where all the family members can have some space or be together both inside with the 3 bedrooms, but also a porch overlooking the hillside, the screened-in porch, and a patio area with a grill and fire table. There's lots of other details from the bowl of apples to greet us, to soaps to carrots to feed nearby horses. We hope to return in the future.
Our stay at 30 Acre Haven was a delightful blend of comfort and natural beauty. The cabin was cozy and inviting, with exceptionally comfortable beds that ensured a restful night's sleep for our entire family. Our mornings were spent enjoying coffee and tea on the screened porch, watching local wildlife and interacting with the friendly on-site horses. A visit to the nearby Luray Caverns added excitement to our peaceful retreat. Evenings were perfect for grilling and stargazing, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. I highly recommend 30 Acre Haven for anyone looking for a serene getaway enriched with nature and tranquility!
We really enjoyed staying at the cabin, which is next to a beautiful meadow with horses you can feed apples to. The amenities and features of the cabin were good - lots of seating facing the meadow, the beds were comfortable, there were sufficient tools in the kitchen. The owner is very friendly and helpful. And there were baby deer that came by for a munch on something green on the hillside. While I enjoyed Shenandoah National Park, honestly, I could have just stayed at the cabin the entire time. It was very relaxing.
If there was one thing I would add, it would be a larger frying pan. The one I found only accommodated one pancake at a time, which was fine for our 3-person party, but if you had more people you might want to get the cooking done faster.
This cabin was absolutely perfect. Exactly as described, clean and just within perfect distance of everything. It was also remote enough and being right up against the Shenandoah National Park meant wildlife were constant visitors, which was great. Sitting out on the porch every evening watching the deer was a treat. Thanks Bill and Carolyn for a wonderful stay!
Spent a long weekend with family in the Shenandoah area. Cabin was cozy and spotless upon arrival. Really enjoyed the auto-start fireplace!Beautiful covered porch AND screened in veranda for al fresco dining or relaxing. Quiet area with plenty nature. Close to hiking—would love to return In the summer for water sports.
This cabin is a real gem nestled in a quiet valley near Shenandoah National Park. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 both inside, and outside the cabin. During the summer months, the deck and screened in patio would offer even added space to relax and enjoy a meal. We enjoyed birdwatching while at the cabin, hiking in the park, and horseback riding at River's Bend Ranch. The check-in process is very easy, and the hosts add such simple, personal touches to make you feel right at home. We certainly hope to return again.
Its been said in the other reviews, but we were looking for a last minute weekend getaway from DC and found the perfect spot! We have stayed in many rental homes with our kids over the last few years and this was by far one of the best. Bill and CK really thought of everything from fully stocking the kitchen and other essentials (like tissues in every room), information about local attractions and even leaving Easter baskets for our children which was a huge hit! Bill was accessible if needed (we had trouble locking the door) but allowed us our privacy as well. House and property are gorgeous and the location is perfect for day trips to Shenandoah National Park and Lurray Caverns among other things. We will be back!!
Wonderful, relaxing stay in lovely, spacious cabin
What a gem! We had a great stay in Bill and CK’s cabin and absolutely recommend it to others. It was spotless, spacious, with great character and relaxing views of the gorgeous surrounds. We really enjoyed the thoughtful space and found it conducive to relaxing, reading, cooking, playing cards, etc. There is a ton of wonderful covered outdoor space, including a lovely screened-in porch and a big, open front porch with rocking chairs. We took advantage of the great grill and appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, which was outfitted with all gear and appliances you’d need. The beds and pillows were also incredibly comfortable. Bill was a very welcoming and communicative host. Our stay at the cabin couldn’t have been better. We would love to come back again soon!
My stay at 30 Acre Cabin was absolutely wonderful. The cabin rests in on a beautiful pasture with wonderful views of the surrounding trees and wildlife. The cabin was well-kept and equipped; Bill and Ck had provided anything you might need for the stay. The cabin has a rustic yet very livable feel to it. The front of the cabin has a covered porch with magnificent views of pasture; during our stay three horses were also guests. The side of the cabin has an incredible enclosed porch. Both were fantastic for drinking morning coffee or sipping on evening tea. Absolutely loved the cabin and the property. The cabin is also close to Thorton Gap and Swift Gap entrances to the National Park, as well as a short drive to Luray and the Civil War Museums in New Market. My wife and I hope to stay here again next year.
I simply can't say enough good things about 30 Acre Haven! What a wonderful rental this proved to be for my family of 5! Bill and CK were fantastic hosts-- Bill was so friendly when we called him to check in! Truly such a kind and welcoming man! The home was so well appointed - basic kitchen supplies exactly where you'd think to look for them, tissues on every side table, and fresh condiments in the refrigerator.
The three horses in the surrounding pasture added to the peaceful and beautiful vibe of the property. My oldest daughter looked forward to feeding them their daily carrot! Speaking of animals, we had several visits from the hosts' adorable and friendly border collie, Arlo. Without fail, every time we fired up the grill for dinner he'd appear! My kids loved throwing the stick for him to fetch and he certainly loved playing with them!
My review cannot be complete without discussing how beautifully decorated the cabin is, both inside and out. All the little extras that make a home special - high quality hand soaps at every sink, fresh cut flowers on the entry and dining tables, and gleaming new small appliances all matching in red!
To top it off Bill and CK left us a kind welcome note and lovely bottle of local Chardonnay. Look no further than 30 Acre Haven if planning a stay in the Shenendowa region!
So this is the kind of cabin that after you are there a few minutes you wish you owned it! The owners have thought of everything. There is a fully equipped new kitchen and dining area, with a really good bottle of wine to greet you! The living area has really comfortable couch and chairs that face a stone gas fireplace. Off the living area is a wonderful screened porch where we ate dinner and then a seating area where we read and watched the birds. There is also a large front porch with rockers to watch the birds and look out over the fields. The 3 bedrooms are large and have very comfortable beds and big windows for lots of sunlight. The bathrooms were great and the owners supplied soap, toilet paper and even hand cream! There is also an outside patio that has a new gas firepit that we didn't get to use because it was raining. Everything indoors and out was top notch, and the owners obviously take incredibly good care to make it so. And to top it off, it was immaculately clean! I can only rave about everything about this house - I would give it 10 stars if I could. In terms of activities, it is right near a boat launch on a river, where you could kayak and canoe, if you have your own. It is near the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, and we went on 2 wonderful hikes, one to High Top Mt. and the other to a waterfall. We also went to Brix and Columns winery, which has a lovely outdoor veranda and tables on the expansive lawn looking out at the mountains, and good wine! We also went to Cave Hill Brewery which was very interesting, also has an outdoor terrace and a big beer hall that has antique carriages and cars inside. We were not, however, fans of the beer! There is also a brewery in Elkton that we wanted to try, but it was raining and the outdoor space was very limited and full when we went, so we didn't get to try it. All in all, the cabin is just wonderfully lovely, and there is alot to do in the area for all ages! Definitely highly recommend!
This is one of the best houses we’ve stayed in! It’s a wonderful house with lots of great amenities…very clean and obvious pride of ownership. We were there for a quick weekend family get together, with lots of hiking at Shenandoah National Park during the day, so we didn’t get to take full advantage of the outside grill or fire table. We did thoroughly enjoy the inside gas fireplace. Wish we had more time to use the large fully appointed screened in covered porch and the large covered front porch. We could hear infrequent traffic on the country road, but the house is nicely secluded with lots of opportunities for bird, squirrel, and deer-watching. The bathrooms had everything we needed, and the kitchen worked well for making breakfast! There’s a wonderful Italian restaurant close by, and we enjoyed two lovely meals there. We look forward to returning for a longer stay and more time to relax!
We have been here 3 times now and will keep coming as long as Bill and CK have it available to rent. Very cozy, very relaxing. The property as usual, was exceptionally clean. The host is responsive and they do a great job of making you feel at home.
Easy trip from Northern Virginia. Bill was welcoming and super-responsive. Beautiful views from the screened porch and front porch. The outdoor fire-table was perfect for roasting marshmallows. The living areas were spacious and nicely decorated with many tables and open cabinets and closets to receive our stuff. The gas fireplace and CD music player were big plusses. The bedrooms were also spacious with lots of closet and drawers space. The bedroom office space was perfect for those few necessary work check-ins. Also, everything we needed was about 20 minutes away, including Skyline Drive, Food Lion, and Luray Caverns. We'll certainly be making a return visit!
