I recently stayed 26 nights at the Monthara Angkor Residence. It was a very nice stay.
The rooms are spacious and it was very quiet.
The hotel is in a great location about 10 minutes walk to Pub Street and about the same to the River, it about 15 minutes walk to the Night Markets.
The staff were lovely.
Breakfast was nice, but as it is a small hotel, don't expect a buffet.
Mr Lucky can arrange airport transfer and I'm sure could arrange any tourist activities you would like to undertake.
There are scooter hire and many restaurants and a very nice spa within 200 metres.
The large Angkor Supermarket is in the next street and an easy walk.
I would be happy to recommend a stay here for your trip to Siem Reap.
The room was more than sufficient. Very spacious and plenty of amenities. The location was away from the hustle and bustle, which meant we had a peaceful rest. At the same time, only a short walk to the old market and pub street.
Their staff are top notch! Very genuine and friendly people. They provide complimentary pick up from the airport/ bus station. Really appreciated their hospitality.
Hotel is a bit worn but good. Spacious room, good shower and a comfortable bed. Did not try the pool. Breakfast has good service and comes with no surprises. I booked with a two way transfer but it is not available since they closed the old airport over a year ago. Pretty close to city center and a very helpful staff.
Everything is very good and more than I expected. Good service and friendly staffs.
It’s not Hotels fault but neighbors has roosters and cries in the middle of night.
I woke up first and second day but i got used to it after.
Other than that everything was fine
The staff were all absolutely sweet and helpful, and are the heart of this hotel. The room was clean, if perhaps a little dated and rustic. We stayed in the top floor and there is no elevator. It gave us a healthy reason for daily exercise. Great balcony up there. For some reason we thought there would be a hot tub in our room, but it was just a very big concrete tub. We didn't use it, and it didn't seem like a very wise use of water. Short walk to Pub Street and the night markets, without being too busy. The pool is small, but nice to refresh and relax through the heat of mid-day. We didn't make use of the spa, nor did we see where it would be. There were much cheaper options nearby anyway. For instance, a Khmer package for $6 that absolutely wrecked us and had us back in action the next day for touring the sites of Angkor.
A very pleasant stay in Siem Reap. Here we like to emphasize the great service, a really friendly and helpful team! Rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. We can only recommend this hotel for any traveler to Angkor Wat...
Likely once a very nice place, it was clearly very run down. The pool was very dirty, grounds needed upkeep and while our room was very large, it was run down. Turn on the shower, water starts dripping from the ceiling as well and it took an hour for it to alll drain. Breakfast was very poor quality, close to ineatable. Staff were nice, but didn’t seem to understand their job. We arrived late though our room was not prepped and was very hot. It took AC a few hours to cool it and with an 11pm arrival, it was hard to sleep, then roosters from next to the property started crowing at 4am. It did feel safe and in a walkable area, but no longer a 4 star place.
The hotel is located in a very residential part of town. I will admit it was not what we expected and was certainly off the beaten path. The staff was extremely accommodating in every regard. The hotel is a five star for where and what it is. If you are looking for a luxury, this is not your hotel. No elevator and our rooms were on the fourth floor. I had a huge balcony overlooking the neighborhood. We took a took a taxi or tuk tuk wherever we wanted to go and felt more than safe traveling that way, but I probably would not advise walking alone at night to visitors. The hotel is very near the night market and restaurant such as the Hard Rock Cafe, which was an excellent place to go for food and drinks And plenty of local shopping!! Also the last night there, I lost my iPhone. Even using find my lost phone did not really help because streets are marked differently. I was in an absolute panic when the tuk-tuk driver came back running in, out of breath looking for me to return my phone!! He was apologizing that he didn’t find it sooner! He was also the airport driver for the hotel, so you can definitely count on hotel staff! We were served a delicious western breakfast, made to order with fresh local fruit, which included in our stay. We loved visiting Cambodia and would recommend this hotel if you want to stay closer to the locals in the action of Pub Street & the Night Market.
