Springfield Cottage - quiet getaway

Situated in the beautiful hills of Springfield on large acreage (only 8 klm from the town of Romsey) in the Macedon Ranges, close to towns and vineyards. 70 klm from Melbourne.

Self contained 120 year old 2 bedroom Victorian cottage, retaining original features but with all modern amenities surrounded by beautiful gardens and a vineyard. Step onto the front verandah into the lounge with original floorboards and fireplaces and a cozy wood fired heater (wood provided). Relax in its warmth in front of the TV or a good book. Well equipped modern kitchen/meals area has a dishwasher, microwave and all essentials. Included in the rate is a continental breakfast or provisions to cook your own. Coffee, tea, sugar and milk will be provided to enjoy on your stay.
Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed, bedroom 2 (coming off bedroom 1) also a queen size bed, both with electric blankets and comfortable doonas. All linen and towels provided.

Bathroom with large shower. Separate laundry with washing machine and dryer. Separate toilet and BBQ facilities. Ideal getaway for total relaxation, tranquility and picturesque walks. No pets allowed.

2 NIGHTS MINIMUM STAY. Rates are based on 2 people. Rates Additional person $70.00 per night per person.

Great country stay

Beautiful cottage in farmland. Location is central to many Macedon treats, hosts were fried and the cottage perfect for our requirements

Cosy winter escape

Novella and Bob were lovely hosts. They live right next door to the cosy cabin, which has a very warm fire, which was lit for us prior to our arrival. The space is very comfortable and they provide breakfast staples and cheese and crackers for you. The farm is lovely and a short drive to Woodend. Thanks for a lovely stay Novella and Bob.

Novella and Bob were wonderful hosts and very thoughtful which helped us settle us very quickly. As this was winter time we appreciated the fire already alight and even the electric blanket was on. Little extras in the fridge for us to enjoy we appreciated. Bed we found very comfortable. We will not hesitate to tell others of this special place and we will go again.

Great hospitality

Bob, Novella (and Blanca) were extremely welcoming. When we opened the door of the cottage, we were greeted by a warm glow from the wood-burning stove in the sitting room. The location, despite being less than an hour from Melbourne, is beautiful and has a feeling of remoteness so that you really feel you are away from it all! Novella prepared dinner for us one evening, comprising a variety of the produce from the garden and a beautiful leg of lamb. We'll be back sometime!

A beautiful place to relax.

A beautifully restored cottage in a very peaceful area. We really enjoyed our stay. There are many things that make this cottage special. It's history, is lovely appearance and homely feel with everything you need, as well as very nice paintings in each room and photos of the how the cottage looked more than 100 years ago. A short drive to the Macedon Ranges.

Wonderful Country Cottage

Beautiful cottage and destination for a country experience. Novella was the prefect host with plenty of welcome goodies. Our two young children very much enjoyed the farm animals including the two cats and friendly Maremma.

Lovely little cottage!

My family loves our stay, very clean and well maintained. The garden views are beautiful. One note, there are two bedrooms but no door between, meant my 8 month old heard her grandpa snore all night...not great. But we made it work 😍 Would happily stay here again xx

Cosy country cottage

We had a lovely stay in Novella and Bob’s cottage. Everything is set up very comfortably, with a modern and well equipped kitchen and a big, clean bathroom. The fire was roaring when we arrived, which was very welcome on a chilly day. Our toddler loved exploring the big garden and especially the animals. Novella and Bob were wonderful hosts. Highly recommended!

Beautiful cottage for a getaway, warm hospitality

It was great staying in Novella & Bob's cottage. I appreciated their warm hospitality and thoughtfulness. The setting is beautiful, peaceful and good for the soul, with rolling hills, friendly pets & some farm animals if you venture towards the paddocks. They provided food for a cooked breakfast incl farm fresh eggs, cheese & biscuits for snacking, and chocolate. Sunrise was spectacular, worth getting up for! I'd definitely stay again

Wonderful!

The Joyner family really enjoyed their stay at the Springfield Cottage. The youngest member of the family especially loved chasing the chickens around and collecting eggs. A very relaxing and peaceful place with plenty of space to run around. Thank you Bob and Novella!
