Large country house, near Heligan Gardens, an ideal base for exploring Cornwall.
Delightfully situated in 3 acres of Cornish countryside, with a large garden to the front and a walled garden to the rear, this 5 bedroomed house is Grade 2 listed dating back to 1780.
The house is south facing and has been a family home for many years. There are 5 double bedrooms and the kitchen and 2 reception rooms on the ground floor are dual aspect with light pouring in at any time of day.
The house is ideally placed to explore this beautiful county and all it has to offer. Both the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are on its doorstep and some of the most beautiful South Coast beaches less than ten minutes away including Vault, Caerhays Carne and Hemmick.
The house is at the head of The Roseland Peninsula which leads down to St Mawes, passing Portloe and Pendower en route where there are endless stunning coastal walks. You can also take the scenic King Harry car and passenger ferry from St Just in Roseland over to the outskirts of Truro or the passenger ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth, a vibrant student town home to the National Maritime Museum. Fowey, famous for its Du Maurier festival is 10 miles east and the historic harbour of Charlestown with its tall ships, familiar from Poldark, is a short drive from the house.
The house is just 25 minutes from the more rugged North coast, home to surfers and windsurfers at places like Newquay, Watergate Bay, Rock, Perranporth and Porthtowan. Further West lies Penzance and those last few miles to Lands End - Porthcurno, Sennen Cove, Kynance Cove and St Ives with its world famous Tate Gallery. Details of which will all be found at the house.
With nearly 500 miles of coastline, and more than 300 beaches, this beautiful county has something for everyone.

Such an idyllic setting for our two families to spend time together catching up. More than enough space for all 8 of us and ideal for little ones, especially with the huge lawn to run around. A lovely welcome pack on arrival full of local goodies and so much help with ideas of places to explore nearby. The house had many different space options both inside and out for eating and relaxing. Thank you Anna and David for a wonderful stay in Cornwall!
Lovely property, perfectly placed to explore Cornwall. Anna and Dave were perfect hosts and the welcome basket was wonderful.
Overall a great break for the whole family.
Fantastic property, exactly as described. Spacious, well equipped and felt like a home (which it is), not a holiday house. Quiet location with plenty of space for young children to play. The friendly and approachable owners live nearby but are very discreet and leave you to enjoy your holiday.
Wonderfully warm and spacious house with an amazing host. Gorgeous green garden. Heaps of space for kids to play and run around. We all had a terrific stay. Thank you, Anna and Dave.
Eight of us (four siblings plus partners) stayed for a week in this lovely location. The house had everything we needed and was beautifully quiet, leaving just the sounds of nature. It was an ideal base from which to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project, parts of the South West Coastal Path, and much more besides. As a bonus, we had fabulous weather!
We rented this house for a family vacation including grand parents party of 7). The house is in a quiet rural setting with a well equipped kitchen and large living and dining rooms. Wifi met the expectations of our three teenagers. The friendly and helpful landlords live next door. Only small flaw of this wonderful house is the fact that some of the windows do not open, which would be nice, specially in summer.
We had a perfect stay in Broom park, thanks to Anna and Dave's gracious hosting and delightful property.
We visited from San Diego USA for 3 weeks and had various family and friends join us throughout the stay (the middle week was my Mum's 80th birthday!). The property was spacious and comfortable for all ages and offers comfortable spaces to be together.
Many of the adults - us included - had to work throughout, so we were especially appreciative of the high-speed internet which hosted parallel Zoom calls and kids Netflix with ease.
The property is delightfully private/off-the-beaten track, but at the same time perfectly located for all of Cornwall's attractions. We recommend the Eden Project, Helligan Gardens, Mevagissey (Mary's Pasties!), Charlestown, Healey's Cider Farm Tour and Adrenalin Quarry for the kids.
Anna and Dave - thank you! We hope to be back and see you again!
Wonderful house in perfect location to explore all of Cornwall
The White family had a fabulous stay at Broom House. Anna and Dave were very friendly, communicative and gracious hosts, getting us off to the right foot with lovely tone and lots of helpful info on house and area. The house itself is wonderful: large, full of character, furnished and finished with impeccable taste. Our children admonished us for not making our own home so cosy and beautiful! Garden is big, sun-filled, pristine and irresistible for the kids while the sun shone.
The location is ideal if you're keen to explore different spots around the county and coastline. We drove as far as Land's End (1h 20mins) and easily to Marazion, St Ives, Newquay area, Padstow area and Camel Trail, and of course all of the local towns and beaches on the Roseland peninsula. Charlestown was a surprise favourite, for cool casual dining.
Our week was close to perfect, and I can't recommend the house, hosts, location highly enough.
Thank you to the Meneers.
House and gardens are spacious, peaceful and full of character. House was well equipped and clean. Owners very friendly and helpful (sorted out a minor problem very quickly). Great location with easy access to both north and south coast. Highly recommend.
