Peaceful, luxury villa with breathtaking views of Coral Bay and the BVIs
Coral Bay Vista was hand-crafted by award-winning artisans Doug White, who flew to Guatemala to hand-pick the trees to mill for the home, and Dave Carlson, and the home is truly a work of art. It is a gorgeous high-end studio made in the traditional Caribbean style from Guatemalan hardwoods and stone and seashell walls. It has expansive views of Coral Bay and beyond to the British Virgin Islands.
You’ll find the interior decorated with original art. There is also a Pottery Barn queen sleeper sofa that is very comfortable, allowing accommodations for four. The owner lives in a suite below the villa, and is available at a moment’s notice for advice on where to go and what to do.
The kitchen has beautiful mahogany cabinets and granite countertops, and you’ll find everything you need for cooking and fine dining indoors or out. Note that there is a gas cooktop in the kitchen, but no oven. There is also a high end outdoor kitchen with a DCS grill and a firepit on the patio. The villa is designed to capture the constant trade winds that cool the house, assuring you’ll be comfortable night and day. Enjoy a tropical drink or glass of wine on the covered deck and dine alfresco on the teak outdoor dining table. There are two chaises and seating on the deck and patio.
The bath has stone and seashell walls and an indoor shower, and you can also enjoy an outdoor shower with the water flowing from a conch shell. We have all the amenities of home including Roku TV, wireless internet, and an ipod connected sound system, though we think you’ll prefer to listen to the bananaquits and chorus of treefrogs.
The gardens are home to mature banana, papaya and guavaberry trees and pineapples. The kitchen garden boasts native herbs including thyme, oregano and rosemary.
The wonderful restaurants and shops of Coral Bay are just 2 minutes down Costanza Road, rt. 108, and you can be at the renowned north shore beaches, Maho Bay, or the Annaberg Sugar Mill ruins in just ten minutes.

Absolutely beautiful rental with amazing views. Everything was spotless, and Kris, the owner, gave us wonderful recommendations. We’d love to stay here again!
Beautiful setting, gorgeous architect designed bungalow, central to all things we llove- hiking, snorkeling kayaking etc.Kris was an amazing host in every way!
We rented a wonderful villa built with really nice woodwork and stonework. The owners were very helpful and provided great directions, among other things. The house was nicely furnished with all the amenities we needed. It secluded up on a hillside overlooking Coral bay. We would recommend it highly.
This is a lovely cottage, nestled in the hills overlooking beautiful Coral Bay and the BVI’s. If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway, this is the one for you. We left the doors and windows open all night to capture the breezes without a worry. The long porch is perfect for watching a sunset and the moon rise over the BVI’s. A jeep rental is a must as the roads are hilly.
The stay was good. Lindsay was awesome and gave us ideas on where to go, best groceries, made sure we were doing ok and even brought us up some Lobster Tortellini he made. The view is amazing. Def need a Jeep due to steep driveway and roads. Be aware that there is no AC but lots of nice fans and the breeze was great 6/9 days. We had a nice visit here and a loved the locals.

Beautiful cottage
This exquisite cottage is a treat for the eyes, designed in a beautiful style of outstanding quality. We were fortunate to have had three nights here. We lost our cell service and had some difficulty locating the property; it would help to have the name from the driveway sign listed as the title, as we drove past it several times. It could have been cleaner on our arrival, but it appears to be kept up well in general. Lovely views and furnishings.
This charming villa overlooks Coral Bay, so the sunrises are spectacular. The driveway is steep and there are stairs leading down to the cabin, but this seemed pretty common for most properties on the island. The beaches are a short distance to drive, so a rent car is definitely advised. Our host provided us with beach chairs, a cooler, and anything else we needed for our stay. There were only a couple of places to eat in Coral Bay, but we enjoyed the quiet, relaxed atmosphere. This property was everything we hoped for.
We had a wonderful stay at this one of a kind house! The interior and exterior decor, such as conch shells built into the shower walls and outdoor steps added to the beauty of the house. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking as well as having appropriate glasses and dishes. The view of Coral Bay and the BVI was breathtaking and the sunrises were beautiful. Eating breakfast on the deck while watching the sun rise over Coral Bay was amazing. Kris was helpful in giving tips for eating out, getting groceries, and where to go for snorkeling and hiking in Virgin Islands National Park. The driveway is quite steep (Kris gave guidance on backing out of the driveway) and there are stairs to get to the house. We highly recommend this beautiful one of a kind house (and helpful host) unless you have significant issues with stairs.
A nearly perfect combination of smart design, beautiful tropical hardwoods and skilled island stone work make this one of the prettiest places we have stayed. The view across the harbor and all the way to Virgin Gorda doesn’t hurt either. At almost any time of day, you can find a comfortable outside spot to sit and read, either in sun or shade.
Internet and cellular reception are good. The place is equipped with all of the basics, in good order. The owner is responsive and helpful and lives below. We spent a very comfortable ten days there.
But, if you need air-conditioning, cable TV, washer/dryer, dishwasher and a toaster, this place is not for you. As another reviewer mentioned, access requires negotiating about 30 steps and can be a challenge for those with mobility issues. We would definitely come back and maybe bring our own toaster.
Where to Begin. Access is VERY steep both drive/stairs. No lighting on stairs is dangerous. Mentioned it to tenant and were given a flashlight......(cheapy solar lights maybe). No AC. No oven, even a toaster oven would have been nice. Holes in sheets, Met a scorpian in Bathroom one evening. Good things, exceptional view, plenty room for 2, nice deck. Quality building for sure. Little upgrades (lights, toaster oven, extra towels, real glassware( evening wine in plastic not cool)...) would be wonderful. I would go back with upgrades
Everything was perfect! The Villa is very clean and well appointed. The view is amazing and the night time sky makes you feel like you are in a planetarium.Very peaceful! A perfect way to enjoy Island life.
Kris is a phenomenal, helpful host and the villa is a treasure. Unbelievable views and wonderful nights above Coral Bay.

Fantabulous view/location. Mornings and evenings on the deck, watching the sun come up or a squall pass by, accompanied by the chorus of local animals (birds, goats, chickens and other chirpers and peppers). Nicely removed from the hectic part of the island but still easy access to trails, beaches, and snorkeling - which is what we were there for!
Place was great. Kris is wonderful. Highly recommend.

It was the most beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing stay we have ever had. The hosts were awesome and helped us navigate the island and enhanced our stay in so many ways we could never repay. We wanted to stay on the veranda forever just taking in the magnificent view.
We had such a great stay in St. John. The property is conveniently located to several great restaurants and bars in Coral Bay. It is peaceful and quiet with an amazing view. Kris was easy to work with and provided several great recommendations.
We had the most memorable stay here for our anniversary. The home has such a beautiful setting and the wood and stone work throughout embodies everything Caribbean. The kitchen was well stocked. Kris was easy to communicate with. We would definitely recommend this vacation home to others looking for a little slice of Heaven in paradise.
