"Lovely bright and airy 2 bed apartment with balcony. Great location opposite the park with a few minute walk into Gloucester centre and quays. Very clean with good amenities apart from lacking a dishwasher .. which on this occasion was not a problem for us as we only stayed 2 nights and eat out. Easy parking in property’s own car park. Did ask about parking for an extra car but wasn’t too happy about the location or tidiness of this as looked run down with rubbish and nails etc on the ground...

"The UP side: This Holiday House is very pleasant .. especially regarding the top floor living room with its big fireplace and sliding glass doors leading to a lovely garden to the rear of the property .. the upstairs bedroom and bath are also both excellant .. all of the kitchen appliances and laundry are top-drawer and work perfectly, although the kitchen suffers from the same narrow dimensions which plague the adjacent dining room .. The DOWN side: the downstairs bed and bathrooms are, unfortunately, more or less in the basement of the structure and are a bit less perfect and were cold at night .. the parking is down on a much lower level which results in a bit of a hike up a steep hill to the house .. we had one member of our party temporality on crutches due to a recent injury and another older member of our party who both found the steep every day climb up to the Holiday House a bit of a challenge .. Overall: Nestled in a green and beautiful countryside, the tiny town of Slad with its ancient church and an equally ancient tavern is a wonderful retreat from all places in our lives which are too busy and too loud and is a medium short drive to all of the Cotswolds .. Note to the owners of the property: Please let us apologize for our horrible job of sorting things out for the garbage and the recycling, it's just something for which we Americans have no skill what-so-ever .. Thanks"

Luxury family friendly holiday cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds - Church Mews

"We had a brilliant stay at Church Mews--it was so good to come back to such a lovely spot after a full day of exploring the gorgeous surroundings. Church Mews had everything and more for a comfortable and charming "home away from home". We wanted for nothing (OK admittedly a few more coffee pods but there was a coffee press that we found and made use of). The loft and main floor bedroom was perfect for the two of us to have our "own" space and the open concept was super for relaxing, cooking, and dining. It was brilliant to have off-street parking. Church Mews was both comfortable and clean. We highly recommend that you book through Stay Cotswolds and stay at Church Mews when you travel to the Painswick area. Trust us--you won't regret it!"

"The hotel is a bit dated in the rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always good and plentiful. Cleaning was poor, never vacuumed in five days, tables were left dirty, sheets never changed. Also there was mold on the window sills and my allergies acted up. A bit pricey for this level of room."

"We booked this accommodation while walking the Cotswold Way. Downstairs space was good and we were able to combine a couple of tables to sit 8 of us together. Upstairs all rooms had views out the back. A little more furniture in the main bedroom would be good. We had a couple of issues but these were responded to and satisfactorily resolved within a couple of days."

"We rented Locks Cottage and it exceeded all our expectations. The house itself was absolutely beautiful – full of character, very well maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The views were stunning and truly captured the charm of the Cotswolds countryside, making it a joy to wake up each morning and simply take in the surroundings. The cottage felt peaceful and welcoming, the perfect place to relax and slow down, whether enjoying breakfast with a view or spending quiet evenings indoors. We had a brilliant time from start to finish and felt at home straight away. It was one of those stays that you wish could last longer. We would highly recommend this cottage and would happily return in the future."
