A communal wonderland

This was a very interesting place to stay. Nestled in the woods very close to the Shenandoah National Park and within striking range of Charlottesville, you will have a great time exploring the surroundings. The grounds were a creative wonderland and you have to see them to understand.The Zen Barn, it must be enunciated, is a very communal space. Directly below you will be a shared kitchen, you will share the building with other lodgers, but you will have a private entrance.I suggest that you complete a Meyer's Briggs personality inventory. If you score an I, then consider a more private location. If you are a couple attempting to have "private" time, consider that a 200 year old chinese bed might be a little creaky.

Peacefulness and comfortable

The vibe was peaceful and comfortable, the other guests/residents were nice and welcoming to the shared spaces. Lots to do on white lotus grounds and in the surrounding area. Hike Shenandoah national park, tour the caverns, great wineries and restaurant near by. I recommend white lotus to anyone who wants an amazing peaceful experience.

I loved this cozy, warm Zen room. The large ornate bed was like a comfy nest, perfect for rest and relaxation. I was so happy to watch the sunset each night from my private deck with view of the mountains. And the view of the stars at night was outstanding and awe inspiring. I loved walking around the grounds, seeing the ducks and geese and even a deer! It was exactly what I needed to recharge my soul. Will definitely come back. Thank you!

I walked into our roomette to meditation music and the soothing smell of tranquility! Everything about this place was so amazing. The huge jetted tub, the ancient wooden bed in the zen suite. Wow. What a superb time!

Great - Would Book with a larger group

Looks like theres a ton to do around the area. Nice room / calm space to lay your head near the Shenandoah valley. Would love to come back with a larger group!

Lovely Property

My room was beautiful and very clean. The kitchen access easy and comfortable- all the guests I met were kind and easy going. I enjoyed the sauna and a massage with Tim in the solarium. Lots to see walking about the property and so nice to be able to take advantage of the shared spaces or sit alone on my room's large porch. The sweet kitties kept me company. I'd expected more from the pond or the dipping pools. Otherwise, this will be a retreat spot I return to! Many thanks.

This place is as close to real magic as you will find

This place is something truly special and we will definitely be repeat guests. There is no better place to decompress and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. The remoteness of the location just adds to the appeal. The staff and pernanent residents of the White Lotus were lovely and helpful and clearly took great pride in the grounds and all of the buildings. Our room was clean and stunningly beautiful. We've never slept so well. The sauna was clean and well stocked with logs for the stove. We had the pleasure of talking to Nelson about the local vineyards and he was a wealth of knowledge and gave us some fantastic suggestions. Overall, this place is paradise for creative types and nature lovers. We are already planning our next trip!

The Shire- zen barn-castle at white Lotus

Upon arriving ac wasnt working, so had to be moved into the castle which was way better AC, i tried to book another week but it wasnt showing on app, so decided move out, did talk to co-host he said he could book it outside of app if having issues but was charging way more so i decided not to stay and moved out.

Paul get away

This is a lovely place off the beaten path! Our room was gorgeous. We stayed in the Zen Barn in the Zen Suite. Being in bed was like being in our own little bubble. It was so incredibly quiet! We walked the property and saw geese, birds, etc. There WERE other guests, we saw the cars, but everyone kept to themselves. The relaxation is real. The property housekeeping manager was accessible and helpful. We definitely want to go back!!! Thank you!
