The property was listed as old style but there is difference between old style and down at heel. This lovely place in a great setting was neglected. It was not clean, indeed in the wardrobe and on and under the stairs was an entomologist dream. The lighting was inadequate as was the heating. The bathroom was good with ample hot water. The kitchen was adequate, but the equipment was bazar. There was an electric frypan with no cord, a blender with a broken bowl and most of the cooking utensils needed a good wash. Every door handle needed tightening. There were new curtains in the lounge and in the bedroom but the rusty old curtain rail had not been removed in the bedroom. Little things like these indicated to me that the property was simply a cash cow and the owners had no respect for the property nor the people renting it. The area is terrific but this town house needs some basic TLC to rent successfully.
