Great quick stay

Hotel was in good condition, easy check-in/out, very quiet for 4th of July (only saw a few other guests), appreciated that they asked me what my floor preference was. A/C worked well, as it was triple digit temps out. Good Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Breakfast was ok; I’ve been to other locations that had more options (waffle maker would be nice).

The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the sausage gravy; it was thick and pasty. They were out of biscuits. The scrambled eggs were very good though!

The pool was green, the hotel has went down hill since it’s been built which I remember when it was built. The walking trail is unsafe due to drug addicts and you’re much better off staying in Bakersfield not that it’s much better. We were only there for a funeral but wanted to spend time by the pool with our grandkids and needless to say this was a Friday with 100 degree temperatures so this pool should have been spotless. The outdoor shower was shut off as well as the outdoor bathroom. All I can say is it use to be the only nice place to stay in Taft. All I can say now is there is no where nice to stay in taft
