The village of Talkeetna itself was cute. we had a good dinner while there and there was a band playing in the park. artsy area.

Talkeetna is a very different place seemingly centered solely around tourism with sky high prices. I am very disappointed that such a quaint little town would have such a high markup on everything.

The train station is fun, and if you check around you can see Danali from here. It is also just a hop up there. Fishing is impressive. The town is crazy crowded when the buses roll in, but it is very nice when they go away. Great place for souvenirs.
