"Absolutely stunning room and breakfast at the hotel across the parking lot was a bonus. The property is on the main road in town so the view is just OK but the location is unbeatable and it was very quiet at night. Only complaint was the lights... numerous switches and its not clear what controls what. And the fireplace ran out of fuel but we didnt contact anyone as we were only there for 2 nights. Wish we couldve stayed longer!"

The Barn - Hostel

"Stayed in a double bed with a friend in a room with 4 double beds (8 ppl). These were pod-style and were quite private and comfy. There is not a lot of room for storage however -- we got there after the 2 above us, who had already spread their items across both bag stands and all the hooks in the corner, which was frustrating. I think the last couple to enter the room kept their things out in the hallway. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies, but got VERY busy and overwhelming in the evening. It was also very hot in there. There were only mini fridges for food storage (no freezer) which made it tricky to keep food there. The layout of the facilities was great: separate sinks near the rooms, with separate WC with sinks, and separate showers down the hall. Didn't have to wait for a single facility, and it looked like the hostel was quite full. Overall, clean, functionally laid out, with a useable but cramped kitchen without large fridge space. Stylish space. Would return."

"Nice quiet hotel, next to restaurants, gas stations, and beautiful views of Vik. Our room was facing the road, 2nd floor, but the views of the ocean were spectacular. Breakfast was plentiful with beautiful view. The room was a little hot, but we opened the windows. We booked two rooms, and they put us next to each other, asking us what beds we preferred. Truly a nice stay, and conveniently located between Reyjkavik & Diamond Beach."

"Great location and clean studio suite. Kitchen was well equipped with induction stove.. which was great but also a little limiting. After checkin we really didn’t hear much from the host. It’s adjacent to the hostel so there were lots of people around. View was good although it was too cold to go out. I would add a washer dryer to the unit because with the glaciers and waterfalls nearby, guests are bound to get wet. Loved the free parking!"

"The cottage was in a very convenient location in Vík. Parking was right in front of the cottages, and the place was very clean and spacious for two people.However, the major issue was how clearly you could hear everything going on in the cottage next door. I could hear full conversations until late at night, even though the neighbors were not being unusually loud. For the price we paid, I would perhaps look at other options next time."

"His location reminds me of a launch you would find in the mountain and or ski resort. The staff was a bit cold and a little bit arrogant. Maybe they need a little more training with regards to personable attitude. The room itself was cute and cozy. The bedding was good. They don't have the best blackout curtains. Parking is convenient to each of the room buildings. There's a complex of about 9 buildings where the rooms are located. The sauna and hot tub are a little bit scary and in disrepair. They have this tiny gem. That again looks a little dodgy But they have breakfast. Buffet is complementary, and it's spectacular. Everything and in that dining hall was top notch."
