Historic 1850 Lighthouse Lake Superior

"The Eagle River lighthouse is an amazing place to stay. Everything was clean, thoughtful, organized and welcoming. The kitchen was a dream but sitting in the sunroom looking at the view was the best! Communication with the host was great. She was informative and helpful. My whole family was very impressed with the Eagle River lighthouse and we had a wonderful time there!!!!"

"Great House Keeper. The place was SO clean. We really felt at home. It is such a beautiful area. Marc and Betty’s hearts shined through when they found out that we were there with no place to go. We were exhausted and NO place to rest until 2 pm. I guess a guest left a day early so she had the smaller house already cleaned which they allowed us to rest. What beautiful hearts. We truly appreciated what they did for us. Thank you so very much, we would love to go back. We thank our Lord for you both. "

"This was a very nice location and only about one minute from the beach/Fitzgerald's Restaurant, however, there is no beach view from the two small cabins that are part of this rental. The view in the listing pics is from the road and the other from the lawn of the main house which is not part of the rental. So, the beach view is outside and away from the cabins. You can definitely hear the waves crashing from the cabins via open windows, so that is nice. The cabins were exceptionally clean and tidy, but the size of them is a bit skewed due to the fisheye lens photos used in the listing (think real estate listings). So, I was taken aback as to how "cozy" they were compared to the listing photos. The bathroom in one cabin is only three feet wide so definitely would be tight for a large adult. The other bathroom was larger so that was nice. Because we were just two friends we mostly stayed in the cabin that had the bedroom/bed. There is no stove at all, no cooktops, which I didn't expect so that was my fault for not reading the fine print. Bed was okay, There is wifi but the TV in the middle cabin had only DVD/VCR and no channels or cable. Had to listen to the Brewers game instead of watch it. I can't recall what the other cabin had for TV. The heater worked very well but since it is tight space it was hard to keep an even temp. That all said, the accommodations grew on us and it was a decent stay."

"Great location. We were able to connect with trails with our side-by-side straight from the rental. Ample parking for our trailer. Clean and stocked. Like noted in other reviews. there are a couple tripping hazards at room transitions, but figured it out quickly. Also as noted, you have to duck when going up/down the stairs, which are narrow and steep. I taped a streamer up to check myself as you could easily hit your head. You do need to be mindful and be fully awake before heading down the stairs. Description provided is accurate, and hosts were very responsive. Overall, a good, comfortable stay."
