August holiday

The house was superbly well equipped and spacious for our family. The owners were very accommodating and helpful. The village is fantastic and nearby towns have lovely markets and there is a great Lake with lots of activities nearby.

Wonderful week

The house is beautifully restored…better in person than in the pictures. Rachel snd Fred were very helpful hosts and stay nearby. The whole experience was wonderful - beautiful house in a charming village with option to take daily walks. Other villages just 5-10km away with grocery stores and restsurants- notably Les Arques, Catus and St Médard. Great water sports at Le Lac Vert in Catus. The house also has beautiful gardens and pool with stunning views of neighboring countryside.

La Garnison is one of the best holiday homes that I have ever stayed in. Beautifully restored farmhouse, exceptionally well equipped. The kitchen had everything you might need, there were lots of outdoor spaces with plenty of seating/loungers and sunshades and a lovely refreshing pool. The garden was charming with lovely views over the countryside. The welcome basket was very much appreciated (butter, bread, jam, milk and a few other bits), there was gas in the BBQ, matches in the kitchen, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, nice toiletries - all touches that make a big difference when travelling.The boulangerie was a few minutes walk from the house and there were lots of local markets selling fresh produce - we visited and can recommend the one in Catus (where there is also a great boulangerie) and Cahors - a town that is definitely worth a visit. Rachel and Fred provide a list of market days in the surrounding towns.Rachel and Fred were extremely responsive hosts who shared lots of tips about where to go and what to visit. Rachel went above and beyond giving us a lift to and from a restaurant one evening- La Recreation - in a neighbouring village. We can also recommend the restaurant.We made full use of the wine cellar of local wines - a definite bonus!I would highly recommend La Garnison and hope to visit again.

Fantastic property and location

Peace and quiet

A perfect location if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Overlooking the hills of Thedirac, the property offered our group everything we wanted and more. Our hosts were extremely accommodating, offering us a warn welcome to the village and any help we may need. If you're on the fence don't hesitate, just book!!

La Garnison is a beautiful house, it had everything we needed for a family holiday.

This amazing house is In the village of Thedirac. Rachel and Fred our hosts were lovely. They greeted us on arrival and gave us plenty of tips. The welcome basket was perfect and just what we needed as we arrived late. The house is beautifully designed, very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The pool area is outstanding and the kids loved it. There is also lovely boulangerie in the village and in the village of Catus (10min drive) is a fantastic butchers and local Spar. We loved our week here, so relaxing and a perfect get away. We would definitely booked again at some point.

Belle maison tout confort

Belle maison, on se sent vite chez soi. Décoration soignée, petite piscine mais bien suffisant pour se tremper, vélos, ping-pong, et superbe jardin avec plein de plantes aromatiques pour cuisiner !

A superb stay

We would absolutely recommend staying here - the house is fabulous, a real home from home with everything you could need. The pool and gardens are wonderful, and Rachel and Fred very welcoming hosts. Thédirac is a pretty little village and the Boulangerie is a stroll away. Our granddaughters learnt their first French words there! There is a lot to see and do, if you can tear yourself away from the pool! We booked wine tasting with Luci and that was great fun and informative.

Lovely relaxing home from home

We spent 2 weeks at La Garnison with family in tow. From our initial meet and greet with Rachel and Fred to the end we felt very welcomed and made to feel "At Home" which was great considering we had my elderly mother and young teenage daughter and her friend to contend with. The house and grounds were in fantastic shape and had a great layout and the facilities, i.e bathrooms, kitchen, pool area etc were great for using and relaxing. Situated in a quiet area which is good but a lot to go out and see and not far away. Rachel and Fred were really helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed our stay here and if we have the chance would stay here again! Many thanks to them and their fantastic property we had a great experience. David and Hazel
