"The rooms. at the Essex Golf and Country Club are very nice and super clean. Be aware there is no in-room ac that we could find and just the smallest desk fan in the room but perhaps this is only an issue for 3 weeks a year! We arrived late (9.30pm) and check was smooth, went to the room and unpacked and notice in the room directory suggested the bar was open until 10.30pm. We meander up only to be informed that last orders was at 10pm so we would only be permitted to purchase one drink. Then...

"Arrived 30 mins before check in and was taken straight to our room. The lady that showed us to our room was lovely, and was very kind when my toddler chatted away to her. Room was clean and looked lovely. I liked that you could park right outside your room which was easy to unload the car. The view from the patio was endless countryside and at night it was rural enough that there was no light pollution and could see the stars. Room was well stocked with all types of teas and coffees. "Long opening hours bar a bonus for hot tired travellers and bar food from 11 am too. Comfy beds, new bathroom and handy shuttle bus from bay 18 at the airport. All very helpful"

"Check in was great, nice & easy and the room was ready straight away. The room was a twin, a great size but very tired. The carpet could do with changing and the shower sealant definitely needs re-doing as it was black in areas. Breakfast was plentiful, could have been warmer but nothing too drastic. It even a separate gluten free section, including its own toaster, was impressed with that. There is also a Toby Carvery just opposite It served us well for 1 night but would not want to stay any...
