I would have thought that, given there is no air conditioning in the hotel rooms and the heatwave was ongoing, a fan would have been provided. My room faced west so it was quite hot and it didn't cool down much as the evening progressed because there was no cross breeze - just one window on one side of the room. Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. "We were given a one bedroom apartment. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed to self cater. Even filter coffee, milk sachets and a cafetiere, which made my day. Staff were all lovely. Pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi were good. Gardens were well maintained. I also had an excellent massage on site. Lizzie’s larder down the road did a good breakfast."
