Charming 3-bedroom cottage in perfect Trufant

"My family stayed at this cute cottage for 4 nights in late July 2026. We were looking for a peaceful place where we could play in the lake, lounge around, and relax. The lake setup was perfect. We took advantage of the cottage's paddle boat, tube, and pool noodles, and had a great time playing in the lake, which is a quiet cove off of the big lake, so there was very little traffic. The one bummer was that just as we were getting ready to go out to the lake one morning, a boat pulled up, four people came onto the shore and treated the plants along the bank with chemicals, and left a sign saying the water was unsafe for swimming for the next 24 hours. Since our primary goal in renting this cottage was to play in the lake, losing almost half of our lake time was not ideal. The cottage itself was comfortable, very clean, and had everything we needed. The owners have thought of everything! The one problem we had with the house itself was only for the last 12 hours or so. We're pretty sure there was a bat in the walls in the attic where one of my kids was sleeping. She could hear it flapping its wings very near her bed, and in the middle of the night, it screeched (so she moved downstairs to sleep). We only heard this visitor at the very tail end of our visit, so I assume it's not a permanent problem. Overall, our timing wasn't great given the overlap with the chemical treatment and the bat visit, but had these things not happened, the stay would have been perfect!"

"We had a wonderful time! Hosts were very welcoming. Home was very clean and well-equipped. Lovely setting for family games. Main TV (56") was replaced with a much smaller TV. Association hours and rules were very restrictive; indoor pool closed and hours of other facilities not conducive for our use. Family loved the kayaks."

"We needed some family time and this cottage was perfect. Everything you could need was already in the cottage. We used the kayaks everyday, The hot tub was so big and clean. We enjoyed the fire pit with provided wood and roasted marshmallows. Inside was modern w WiFi. The town was only about 10 min away. We shopped at Leppinks for groceries, ordered take and bake pizza from Main Street Pizza, had ice cream at Aunt Zann’s, and ate breakfast at McKenna’s. All the people we so nice. Frank and Kaylee were great hosts and very easy to communicate with!"

"Very updated clean two bedroom 1 bathroom cottage.Ample amount of comfortable furniture both inside and outside the cottage. The sun shade over the outdoor sofa was perfect ! The lake side hammock was a huge hit with my husband.For an additional fee the hosts would provide firewood for your stay as well as have on site kayaks, paddle board and paddle boat.The property hosts were very pleasant, accommodating and communicated Very well and quickly.This is a great place to unwind and enjoy nature, we saw deer at the lakes edge, geese flying in and swimming around the lake.Big Rapids was just a short drive for a small day trip.We stopped at two not so far restaurants, The Royale Grille and Antlers Fireside Grille, which were both delicious."

"This property was exactly what we needed! The space was just as described and some extras. The showers came with handy shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers. That was a huge plus! The bunk bed room has 4 beds, which was so fun for our 3 kids. The beds in the other rooms were very comfortable. The extra yard games, kayaks and pedal boat were utilized and so fun to have as an option to use. This lake is an awesome fishing lake! The family caught perch, bass, and pike. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed for the week. We enjoyed the board games in the house, especially on the big dining room table. We truly enjoyed this niche on the cove. We will definitely book again!"
