This property was great value for money. The location is excellent and you can walk to everywhere in town. The room was spacious, air con worked well, staff were friendly and the pool was great. Highly recommend.

Great Location

The staff was very helpful. The room was quiet with great a/c. I would recommend better hand soap and dispenser, rather than the awkward jar at the sink.

This is an old building with a lot of character. It was the quietest of the four nights we've spent in Mexico. The room was very small and crowded and the double bed was quite tight for my husband and I. It is a great location to walk to the plaza and restaurants. We were able to park in their lot across the street. In spite of the tight space, we would have stayed another night but it was booked. The only problem was our toilet clogged the morning we left and we were unable to flush it even manually.

Top value in Valladolid

The staff was wonderful and the hotel was lovely with fascinating decorations and Old World style. The free breakfast was fine with fresh fruit, pastries, and coffee. Our room was large and quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The pool wasn’t large, but the water was warm. Two blocks from the center of town in a safe area. Definitely recommend unless you only want new facility.

Good value for money

This hotel was ideally located. Its decent value for money and quite beautiful when you admire the ornaments. The staff was very informative and had great tips for sightseeing. My only concern is that the wifi does not reach the rooms, we were not even that far from Reception and alas no wifi. That needs fixing in this day and age.

The staff was very helpful. One thing that could be improved is the bathrooms. The water pressure is not very strong and there was not always hot water. More storage would also be helpful. Other than that this is a very good value hotel with a great location. We would recommend it to other travellers.

The property is really pretty. So that was really good. The negative was the extra 22% tax the receptionist demanded over what the site quoted to us. Not much you can do then. Apary from that the location and facilities are really worth it.

After reserving through Expedia, the manager requested payment in cash and did not accept credit cards. The building is old and decrepit, the staff was terrible, like they did not want us there. Would not come back ever. The parking lot is a dump, actually left over from an old construction with piles of trash.

Front Desk Rip-off

I was given a price of about 2500 Mexican Pesos for my three night stay, all taxes included, when I made my reservations with Hotels.com. When I arrived, I was asked not to use my credit card to pay, but to rather to pay in cash, and the bill came to 3100 Pesos. In the past, I've had good luck reserving with Hotels.com, and I feel the dishonesty was on the part of Hotel Palacio Canton. I should have walked out, but was tired from traveling, so stayed there against my better judgment. The royal and palatial atmosphere that was advertised wound up being more like a mausoleum. Don't stay here. Stay at any of the economical hotels nearby: Hotel Peregrino or Casa Daniels.

Stay away from this place!!!!!!!!!!

This place was disgusting! Where do I start, oh yea, the room was very small, there was no toilet seat on the toilet, the shower was all rusted out and leaked all over when you opened the faucet, the coffee pot was extremally dirty and when I asked them to clean it or replace it the girl said it was not her responsibility but did bring me a different one only to have it malfunction and burn my hand early in the morning. The morning person who put out some fruit and sweet bread was very rude and even told me that I could not have any because it was only for a few individuals that worked for a company and were staying there. The air conditioner did work but took a very long time to cool the room, did I mention it was a very small room1? Over all this was the worst place I have ever stayed in all my travels and will never stay there again nor will I recommend anyone to stay there. I shoud have taken pictures !!!!!!!
