I had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The location was perfect—just a short walk from major attractions and public transport. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylishly furnished. Staff were friendly, helpful, and made me feel very welcome. I would gladly stay here again on my next visit to Vienna!

The Domizil Hotel has a friendly staff and clean, quiet rooms. It is an easy walk to Saint Stephens Cathedral. St. Stephen’s is crowded, but the lines move quickly. Nearby are other churches that rival the interior of St. Stephen’s. Our favorite cafe is Cafe Diglas, and it’s only two blocks away. Excellent dinners including three types of schnitzel, Austrian goulash and more. Their strudels were wonderful.

I would give it 5 stars but took one off due to a need for updates in regard to room. The shower over tub was very difficult to climb in and out from, plus the room decor was basically nonexistent, nothing on the walls. Needs some updating. Otherwise the hotel staff was awesome and the breakfast was the best we had during our visit to 4 major cities in Austria and Germany. I would also say that the price here was higher than the other hotels we stayed at that all had better room conditions. A bit overpriced but I’m sure that’s because of the location and convenience in the heart of Vienna.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel in our recently vacation (October/2025).My wife is very picky . I have to say that she was very pleased with the beautiful hotel, the reception area has the Viennese charm and the bedroom had what we needed, a spotless bed to sleep. The bathroom was clean and roomy. The staff members were extremely friendly (Thank you guys!!!), helpful, and their English language skills were excellent. They were always ready to give us suggestions that really helped us to find great places to eat and shop. We really recommend this hotel if you want to be in the perfect location.

Peaceful retreat

Perfect location, close to the action but being one block away made for a peaceful solution. I appreciate staying in authentic, non-chain places with windows that open. Front desk staff ladies were always so kind and welcoming. My favorite hotel of the three during my stay in Europe. Loved seeing the cathedral every morning. Didn’t realize the metro station was so close until 2 days in but that was great also. There were not a ton of photos their website so I was hoping the hotel would be ok and it was. I loved it, a hidden gem! Also only a 10 min walk from Wien Mitte train station which I took from Vienna airport.

Lovely small hotel in great location

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, great selection for breakfast. Although central, I found the area quiet for sleeping. Only negative was that I found the mattress a bit too firm for my liking.
