"I stayed at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott from 5/20/26-5/22/26. I was attending a Women’s Conference at the Hilton one block away. I was checked in with a smile by Felecia who gave me info on different restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The room was clean, and comfortable with an amazing view of the river. My only complaint was that the WiFi server was not functioning properly to watch any TV and the stopper in the bathroom sink wasn’t functioning well at all but I made do. The staff responded quickly when I requested additional cups be brought up to my room to drink water and when I asked about access to a-computer and printer to print out my boarding pass to catch my flight back to Maryland. I want to also recognize Airianna,the front desk supervisor, and Jacqualine who checked me out when I was ready to leave on5/22/26. All of the staff and employees that I interacted with were happy, helpful and friendly from the maintenance staff, housekeeping and the team out in front of the hotel that helped with parking,unloading suitcases and welcoming guests to the hotel . I will be coming back to this hotel when I visit Norfolk again."

"The property is right near the beach and within minutes of resturants and shopping. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, one of the best I have ever seen. The property is older and has had some upgrades but is still in need of more updates and repairs. The cleaning staff isn't the best, but overall, it was good for the price and I would definitely stay there again."

"The mattress was terrible, with 2 twin mattresses on a queen frame. There were hard bumps throughout the mattress, making it impossible to find a good comfortable spot. The wallpaper was peeling. The grab bar for the tub is located near the front of the shower, which would have been ok if the toilet wasn’t only inches away from the tub, basically blocking the grab bar. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was standard, and fresh. I didn’t require parking, but there was a parking garage. It is located in the middle of a college, and walkable to restaurants, and gas stations. Overall a decent hotel, except for the mattress in my room."

"Door wouldn’t work to the room so they gave us a different room and it was a downgrade that smelled funny. The water in the shower barely got warm and then was cold within 2 minutes. The door not working and room change caused us to be late to the concert we were there for. The website and phone in the room advertising room service but they don’t offer room service so I went to the restaurant to order breakfast and it took over an hour to get the food. And when I got it back to the room the order was wrong . I was very unimpressed with the service and the hotel"

"1. The valet parking fills up very fast. You have nowhere to park while checking in or out 2. One of the elevators was broken. 3. My toilet was not secured to the floor. 4. There was no house keeping for my room. I left @ 10AM and returned at 4PM. 5. Checkout was stalled by one person. The manager finally came out to take my key."

"This is probably the worst review I've ever wrote based on the exact name budget.. didn't realize how sad it was cause pictures online. Tell a whole different story very dirty outdated. We stayed three nights couldn't find anything else two towels very loud and staff was absolutely no help. I half a star out of five."
