In the province of Groningen, where this holiday home is located, the possibilities for fun excursions in the surrounding area are endless. Many beautiful routes lead to interesting sights: Cycle to the picturesque fortified village of Bourtange (8 km), admire the listed village of Smeerling (3 km) and the stately farmhouses and manor houses in Bellingwolde (12 km).

For a lovely day out with your children, visit Surwolds Forest (38 km). It is a beautiful recreation area with a large playground, climbing forest, toboggan run and fairytale forest. Visit the city of Papenburg (25 km) for a tour of the famous Meyer shipyard, where impressive cruise ships are built in the largest construction sites in the world. The centre of Papenburg is also picturesque. Take a walk along the city canal with old drawbridges, colourful flowers and beautiful ships. Admire the town hall, Meyers Mill and the Old Tower.
