"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rainbow Inn up in the hills of Aiea. From the beginning last Dec. Vicky & Grant were very quick to respond to our inquiries and gave us plenty of helpful information. They bill this as a B&B rental and asked what we would like in the way of breakfast items placed in the unit upon our arrival. That was very nice. The unit sits below their permanent home with a pool outside the Rainbow Inn, and they ask if they could take a swim occasionally. No problem! We very much enjoyed their time but also gave us plenty of privacy. Very comfortable and clean and had a lot of kitchen provisions available to us. There is no oven but a handy multifunction air fryer/toaster oven totally sufficed. They provided plenty of beach towels, chairs, noodles, boogie boards for the beach (recommend Kailua Beach Park on the Windward side). Pool deck had lounge chairs and dining table for 6 and a grill. With those views, you spend all your time either in the pool or dining al fresco. The grounds are very well kept which provided a very nice tropical setting that we all come to Hawaii for. Mahalo. We will be back!"

"This apartment was the perfect location to visit family. The bus stops are right on the street in front making getting around Honolulu without a car super convenient. We also appreciated the shopping center which had a CVS, grocery store and several restaurants. The apartment is high enough to have a nice view and to get a good cross breeze which helped with the Hawaiian heat. Richie was a very responsive host who got back to me quickly with any questions I had."

"If you are looking for peace and quiet, away from Waikiki, this is a perfect location. The Ko Olina area is beautiful and perfect for morning/evening walks. Unfortunately, the townhouse is over a mile from the beach and not walkable if you are carrying beach gear. There is a pool close by and a good option if you don't feel like hoofing it to the beach. There are only a couple of restaurants (that aren't in the Disney resort) and they are nearly two miles away. There is a little market where you can purchase food items but beware! A loaf of bread is over 10 (Yes, you read that right). I don't recommend staying in this area unless you have a car to get around. I was there for 30 days and the biggest expense was food. It is ridiculous how expensive it is to eat there. Two big breakfasts and two bottles of water at McDonalds was over 37 and that was not in a touristy area. The people who live in the townhouses are not friendly towards the people who are renting short-term. We said hello and tried to be cordial but were snubbed on more than one occasion, so we just stopped speaking to them. There was only one person that was friendly. Clearly they don't want renters there. I love Hawaii but I wouldn't rent/stay in this area again due to the distance from everything. I would stay in the Waikiki area where there is an abundance of restaurants, stores, entertainment, and you can walk everywhere."
