Mountain View Retreat

Walk down the side path of the house to a magnificent view of the MatSu Valley The location is a perfect stopping point one hour from Anchorage and two and a half hours from Denali. There are two bedrooms that sleep six. One has a queen bed and the second has a queen bed with twin bunks. A large living room with tv with WiFi and streaming only on the tv is available. The mini kitchen, and bathroom are also yours to use. The kitchen has a microwave, mini fridge, toaster, small grill, and coffee pot for your use. The property is quiet and a perfect spot to come back to after a day of sight seeing. We live upstairs in the home and welcome any questions you might have about the area. Nice dogs on the premises but not in your private space.

We stayed here for a night after a nearby wedding. Gorgeous view and awesome property. Had everything we needed, was just here with friends but would be a great spot for family/kids as well.

Easy launch for Talkeetna

We flew into Anchorage and then stayed here in order to set ourselves up for a nice day trip to Talkeetna and back the next day, before heading to the peninsula for the rest of our 10 days in Alaska. The hosts were kind, the views were incredible, the space just right for what we were doing.

Great communication, very friendly host and very clean property! We stayed here for our first two nights in Alaska. This home was so welcoming and comfortable with amazing gardens and a jaw dropping view. The decor reflects the owner’s Christian values and was beautifully done. Many thoughtful and personal touches made this one of favorite stays overall.

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. The residence was large and comfortable, and the owner went out of their way to ensure everything was convenient for us. It’s easy to get from there to stores and/or diners, and the owner was kind enough to provide a list of nearby sightseeing spots, diners, etc. This place also has a wide, exceptional view. I would greatly recommend.

It was a very nice home. Easy to access. She answered any and all questions I had. Very nice lady. Had some friendly dogs. Wonderful few of mountains out the door. Seen a few moose below the hill in the yard. Overall stay with Deb was great.

This is one of the most beautiful and amazing places I’ve ever visited. It has a peace of mind and heart that I have never felt. Please go visit. Host are amazing, very friendly people. Very private if you’re looking for something special. I really wish I could have found out about the DVD’s that were available in the rooms. I didn’t get the opportunity to watch during my stay but the 3 disk set is there for you. I hope anyone that visits will feel the same

Exceeded expectations

This property was our first few nights in Alaska and it was fastastic! The views were incredible and of course the pictures don't do it justice. It is breathtaking. And this is the view out the door every morning and out the bedroom window! It was a very quiet neighborhood, out of the mainstream. The room and living area were very large and the kitchen well stocked for coffee, etc. The morning muffins were amazing. I would stay here again and longer in a heartbeat. Loved it!!

Extreme noise from upstairs: could hear and distinguish talking, crying baby, loud footsteps. Not so much a problem for my party but if you are looking for peace and quiet and serenity this is not an appropriate spot for that. Otherwise it’s very clean, comfortable, and safe.

First off, the view is spectacular! When you enter, you will feel like you’re staying in your grandma’s house, super cute! The fireplace is cozy! The bathroom and kitchen sinks, toilet, shower, all clean, but the floors throughout needed a good vacuuming and scrub down (just not up to my standards). We stayed in the bedroom with the bunks. I would suggest a new mattress for the queen bed, it slumped to the middle and was thus not very comfortable. Super nice coffee area with a great selection plus creamer, sugar, and teas. She also left muffins and fruit for us, which was so nice!

Beautiful welcome to Wasilla!

What an incredible host Deb is! An overnight arrival and she communicated with me beforehand so I understood how to arrive as easily as possible and it was. The welcoming treats upon arrival and personalized door greeting made us feel very welcomed. We drove to Denali first thing in the morning and the snacks were right on the spot. We knew we made the right decision in staying in Wasilla. The home was very beautiful and the views of mountains were so peaceful. While I didn’t get to meet Deb due to our busy schedule, she checked in on us to make sure we were good and it was appreciated. No stove, but a grill and microwave/small fridge. Recommend for anyone traveling to Wasilla or need an in between from Anchorage (50 mins) and Denali (just over 3 hours). Thank you for opening your home and look forward to returning.
