"Everything was beyond perfect! The stay was wonderful, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the staff would go above and beyond to help with anything we might have need. We enjoyed our stay so much we will definitely be coming back!!!"

"Room was clean and tidy, plenty of space. Towels, toiletries are provided. The room also has a kettle, tea, coffee, and a smart TV which you can cast to. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is plenty of lounge space and activities on the ground floor. Lovely stay!"

"Enjoyed our stay at the elephant, good size room, nice tea, coffee , etc in room. Huge bed was very comfortable, en suite facilities were clean & well stocked. Staff friendly & I felt weak looked after. Breakfast I thought was excellent. Managed to park in the public car park next door at a very reasonable cost as elephant one was full.."

"Characterful cottage in fair condition, kitchen a little tired. For us the issue was the shared driveway, the close proximity of the owners house, the provision of only a single key, and too frequent interactions initiated the owners (for example, on one occasion they interrupted a work call by repeatedly knocking on the door until I answered). All of that meant we did not feel it was our own space and we were not able to relax. The EV charger has a tendency to trip out now and then, I was repremanded by the owner for resetring it; we were glad to be leaving the day after that interaction. "

"Perfect for a multigenerational get together. Ideal accommodation and space for little ones to run around outside. Check in easy, kitchen facilities very good although for 14, fridge space was limited."

"The host never responded to any text or chat messages from us once we were given his contact details three days prior to the booking. There was no email address only a mobile phone with no voice mail available to leave a message. Neither did he respond to any emails sent by Vrbo support. Vrbo did not have any additional information about the property apart from that on the website and did not allow the booking to be cancelled until we actually arrived at the property despite the complete lack of communication from the host. We arrived at the property and were unable to gain access.The neighbours had never heard of the host, his name was unknown to them as an owner of the property. It has not been available to rent for some time. It is advertised as a house but it is a downstairs apartment/flat. Added to which it was surrounded by scaffolding. We immediately rang Vrbo support who cancelled the booking and arranged an immediate refund of our money. We then had to find, at very short notice, alternative local accommodation as we needed to be in the immediate area that night to be near a relative. The whole experience was stressful since we were away from home prior to the start of the booking and were travelling a considerable distance with no information or assurance about the property and its access, since there was no communication from the host and Vrbo were unable to do anything about this.
