Good - just what I expected. Housekeeping was great. Milk was replaced every day. Could be a bit cleaner but good overall. Great parking. Close to town.

We were only planning to stay one night at Ava lodge before traveling to Tongariro. But due to cyclone Vaianu we called Ava lodge and Joe was able to extend our stay a couple extra nights. Ava lodge was very nice, modern, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Joe for helping us out 😀

Check in and out was fast and easy, the receptionist was really nice and accommodating (we were only slightly late but he did offer to keep reception open until 9PM for us). We got a free upgrade, the room was clean and had everything we needed. Would probably stay again if I'm in the area.
