Parking was good and it’s a really nice little village, the accommodation was fairly clean but tired, the same can be said of the bar and restaurant areas. Not much chance of getting any sleep before about 11.30 pm due to drinkers in the outside area being very noisy. For the price it is okay.

Small but basic room, but quite comfortable (apart from the heat!). Room was completely boiling at all times - mad more difficult that you can't really open the window full, nor the door due to the position of the room. They provided a fan, which just pushed hot air around... In normal conditions, this is quite a comfortable hotel, but if its going to be hot - suggest you find somewhere with aircon.

The property was advertised by the Arkel group as having been taken over in 2018 , the rooms were being programmed to be decorated and brought into excellent condition. Unfortunately they hadn’t , now in 2026 ,they hadn’t gotten around to our room , room number 4. Wallpaper was hanging off over the bed, a rug had been pulled over a very threadbare carpet at a strange angle, the curtains were extremely old and the bathroom was barely fit for use. Such a shame as the staff were absolutely lovely and as it’s the company at fault we didn’t complain to the staff. We slept so poorly we got up at 5.20am, got ready and left. Won’t be staying again or recommending.

The staff were very welcoming, and parking was easy. We didn’t use the bar as we were at a function. The room was clean, although there were what looked liked feathers on the carpet, maybe they had blown in. The shower door was quite stiff and not easy to close, and the shower tray was slippery, perhaps a rubber mat could be put down.

This is a typical village pub with some areas redecorated. DR 9 Hampshire: Good size. Comfy bed. Window to courtyard seating area, could be noisy in warmer weather; I slept well. Bathroom good size: Shower over tub only reachable by climbing in. Might not be suitable for less mobile guests. Some hair (this seems to be norm in every hotel lately). Slippery floor tiles! Nice hot towel rail. Food: offer and quality is good. I would stay again.

A good pub Hotel in centre of town ..its is pet friendly I would recommend...the only drawback now is your restricted to only 30min parking on the street as the car park is often full this is something the council should reconsider to support the local hotels and aid tourism.

We had a great overnight stay at The White Hart when visiting the area for a wedding. A dressing room was available to use so we didn't have to travel in our wedding outfits, but our room was ready so we were able to check in earlier. The room was small but it had all we needed. There was tea and coffee available in the room, the linen was clean and the bed comfortable. There were a few chairs and tables outside on the walkway where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine. The ensuite was also small but the shower was great with good water pressure and flow. Whilst there was only one person serving breakfast which meant a little wait to get served, there was a good selection for breakfast and it was very reasonably priced, as was the room There was free parking available, although there weren't many spaces and it was first come first served. There is alternative free parking nearby however. We didn't have an evening meal, but another wedding guest staying there did and said it was tasty. Would definitely book again if staying in the area. Fab find.

The room was fine, a bit dated but ok. The pub had a band on and it was so loud, went on until 1pm then all the punters were standing in the street shouting. We didn't have many hours of sleep at all and had a grumpy child the next day. Would not stay there again

This hotel is full of history and the staff are fabulous. Some of the rooms are a little tired and traffic noise can be a problem but the location is wonderful for Bombay Sapphire and The Silk Mill. It is undergoing a programme of redecoration. There is a small amount of parking but if you get there early you can bag a space, alternatively, there is free parking next to The Silk Mill a few minutes walk away.

We had a wonderful stay . It was warm and comfortable and I loved the decor it was within keeping for an old style pub. The bath for me was a real treat as we only have showers at home . The menu is great and the breakfast was enough. Staff are friendly and accommodating. We will be opting to stay again next year.
