Private Beach and Beautiful Views
Welcome to White Stone in the beautiful Northern Neck of Virginia! Our house is located on Windmill Point, at the mouth of the Rappahanock River on its northern bank, where it meets the Chesapeake Bay. We know you will enjoy your family vacation on the banks of the Rappahanock River. Here you will find a stay that is very private 2.5 acres of land, with 250 feet of water frontage, 150 feet of sandy beach, a half basketball court, corn-toss, fire pit, and plenty of room to play. We can sleep 10, we have three bedrooms (two with queen size beds, and a bunk room with two bunkbeds, and a futon. Two bathrooms, and a spacious outdoor shower.
We are in the process of building a new dock that we hope will be completed by May 2026. The dock will feature a 16' foot wide sitting section at the end - perfect for viewing our beautiful sunsets.
From our beach, the river is five miles wide, directly across from Deltaville, and a quarter mile northwest of the Chesapeake. Our 2.5 acres of land boasts 250 feet of shoreline, a private sandy beach, a dock, a basketball court, and enough room to toss around a football, frisbee, baseball, lacrosse ball, or anything else that flies. We have two sea kayaks available for your use, as well as a paddle board, and you are welcome to bring your own sunfish, waverunner, windsurfer, or other beach toys that will enhance your vacation. PLEASE, if one of the paddles for the kayak or paddle board breaks, we understand accidents happen - let us know so that we can try to replace them in time for the next guests.
Guests should plan to bring their own umbrella and beach chairs. We try to leave 3-4 becah chairs behind after our visit each summer, but these chairs get destroyed by the weather, and are sometimes left on the beach overnight (which often leads to them blowing into the river during a storm). So we cannot guarantee you will have usable chairs. If you have usable chairs that we left behind, please try to bring close to the house at night and at the end of your stay.
No slimy sand on our beach – at low tide with the slow sloping beach an adult can walk 100 plus yards off the shore and still be standing. We often have schools of dolphins in the river, particularly during the late summer. Tall pines on the front yard (river facing) provide excellent shade in the afternoon if you need a break from the sunny beach to play a game of corn toss, or to set up the fire for the evening in the fire pit to sample some smores with the kids. Enjoy your morning coffee on the outdoor patio, play card games on the front screen porch, take an overexposed picture of the spectacular sunsets, or just kick back with a cold refreshing drink and let the summer day just stretch on!
Walk to the Bar/Restaurant at the Marina to catch a live band on a Saturday night, head up the road to Irvington to catch breakfast at the Tide’s Inn, head into Kilmarnock for some antique and specialty shops. Hit the links at Golden Eagle golf course, about 10 country miles away (if you are used to waiting to take a shot at a crowded city course, prepare for having the course to yourself). Take a day trip to Busch Gardens, historic Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown, Richmond (each between 1 and 1.5 hours), Virginia Beach (2 hours), or even Washington D.C. (2.75 hours). We know you will have a fantastic vacation at an affordable price.

Looking for an escape from the city, and boy was this it. spent days on the private beach dipping in the water if it got too hot. We had stayed here pre pandemic, and it was just as lovely as i remember. Thanks!
First of all is was a beautiful, well-equipped property. Very clean and airy. Closer to the water than the pictures show, Such lovely views of the river. So, so quiet, just what we like when we are on vacation! My son caught a few crabs and he and hubby steamed them. The owner was very responsive to questions. We just loved how secluded this house was. This house had every amenity one would need. We will definitely book again.
The washer was not working at all which was very unhandy and forced us to take vacation time to go to a laundromat:(
The electrical outlets badly need updated! They are all old style with NO ground hole. We couldn't find a place to plug in our computer charger. Very unhandy! Curtains on all windows would be very nice and apropriate! The location was great and the private beach area was very nice!

Very Disappointed and overpriced
The "location" on the river is great, but the house is a stretch for the rate per night being charged and an added cleaning fee that is a tad over the top based on the age/condition of the house.
The property was not ready upon our arrival. Luckily, we had dinner reservations up in Warsaw so we'd be gone for awhile, time enough for the cleaning person to come take care of things.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder they say. To some, you'd think this place was the Ritz based on reviews. If you're looking for the "3 hots and a cot", a rustic feel, this will fill that need.
We had a great long weekend at this home while in town for a wedding. Home is bigger than it looks in the pictures so we were pleasantly surprised. Our 4 year old loved spending hours on the dock fishing and using the crab pots, the beach area was also great for him. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!

Nice property in a quiet location. Played golf at nearby courses and ate at several local restaurants. We had great weather which made stay even better.
Would recommend up dating bathrooms. Would recommend with updates.
We couldn’t have asked for a better week away!!! The house is even bigger in person than it looks online and everything flows nicely together. Access to the beach is easy. We loved spending hours in the water. The sand is clean and the water is clear. We appreciated the beach chairs, noddles, and kayaks/paddle boards. Our dogs loved the beach as much as we did as well as the large, shaded yard. We are considering vacationing here again.

Fabulous rivah property, well kept....great view, private, great owners
I can't say enough about this home. The view, the fire pit, the dock, the sandy beach, everything. It is so relaxing, well equipped and perfectly hospitable. It has character, with some modern updates. We caught a rockfish right off the dock, enjoyed beautiful sunsets, went to a local farmers market, steamed crabs, shucked oysters, you name it....we did it. If you are looking to get away and relax, this is the home for you.

Amazing getaway
The property was private and beautiful. The sandy beach was outstanding and the dock was an added bonus for fishing. We loved the kayaks and screened in porch. The house is a bit dated and in need of some TLC but the decor gave it a newer feel. We had a resident mouse who ate our crackers and made us jump a few times but it didn’t ruin our vacation. The outdoor shower was liberating and a fun addition to the house. Overall it was an outstanding vacation. We would defintely go back!

Great pick for a romantic getaway or fun vacation with friends
For the past 3 years, we've sought out a secluded cabin for a week-long summer getaway with our dog. Private homes are hard to search for on VRBO-- and it was even more of a challenge to find one on the beach!
This place was perfect, and we had a great time kayaking and frolicking on the beach with our dog. The house was very spacious, and would have been fun to share with a group of friends. We loved the screened-in porch-- we called it the "solarium." :)
One negative-- the shower water smells like sulfur, and the water from the faucets isn't good. A water cooler is provided, but we wished we had just one more refill-- we were there for a week, and we felt like we had to ration ourselves. We ran out as we were packing up to leave! If we had known, we would have brought our own water. (We came with all of our groceries and stayed put all week.)
Overall, we had a fantastic vacation and would definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay at the River. We took advantage of the porch, the beach, the deck and the fire pit depending on the weather. Will definitely be returning.
Very nice house / cottage, great views on the bay. Our kids enjoyed the kayaks and the easy beach access. The house itself reminds me of houses in Florida, cinder block, one level, lots of windows. They have a nice gas stove and washer / dryer, but be advised the electrical is older (most outlets are non-grounded and we did have an older lamp there short out when it was plugged in), and it looks like it has seen better days in terms of the bathrooms, but all very functional. The fire pit and basketball court are great.
The pictures of the property and house are exactly the way it is. The private beach was enjoyable. The screened-in porch has awesome views. Large rooms inside, especially the living room, made it extra nice. This is a perfect place for a family with children that love the water, or a group of adults that want to get away and enjoy the views. Restaurants nearby are amazing. We ate out four times and all four were great. Wish we had time to check out more!
Property was very relaxing and private. Small occassional waves: great for us. Calm enough occasionally to try paddle boarding. Research restuarant times, many are closed Monday and Tuesday. Hours vary. Would definitely consider returning.
This was an absolutely gorgeous spot for a mid November weekend trip to the beautiful Northern neck. The home is spotless and is very charming with a retro river house vibe. The view and sunsets are outstanding in the private beach is just lovely, especially if you have children under 12. The host was very communicative and let us know about damage to the dock that had just occurred prior to our arrival. I highly recommend this as a relaxing and beautiful spot to spend your time on the Northern neck.
